Why do our pastors not read DEUTERONOMY 14:22-29, DEUT 12:17-18 etc to us, where we are commanded to eat our Tithes? Why do they claim it is their right? Or is it possible they have not seen those places? I dont understand.

[22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fieids produce each year. 23 EAT THE TITHE OF YOUR GRAIN, NEW WINE AND OIL, AND THE FIRST BORN OF YOUR HERDS AND FLOCK in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling place for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place ic too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe ( because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is far away), then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy what ever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD SHALL EAT THERE IN THE PRESENCE OF YHE LORD YOUR GOD AND REJOICE.]

Your pastor is the last person you should consult on this issue, he is a beneficiary of the subject matter. He is almost certain to be biase and manipulate scriptures further to justify the collection of tithes by churches.

Did you really read the verses? Particularly Verse 23 and 26 of Deut 14? It actually commands that the tithe be set aside each year, and then be eaten in His house by the giver ( as a feast/ celebration of God's blessings for that year) with his family, friends, priests etc

Deut 14: 28 says that at the end  of every three years, the TITHE of THAT year is to be stored in our towns/ gate -depending on Translation, so that the fatherless, widows, strangers, Livites( who have no allotments/ inheritance of their own) may come and eat freely there.

That is to say, Yr1 & Yr2, tithe is to be used for  a feast by the Giver,  Yr3 tithe is to be taken to a central place (store) which is supposed to be in every town, for the less privillaged.

I agree that the pastors are not really the ones to go to for anwers. Because I have heard many of them teach on tithe but never once mention these scriptures where God thru Moses gave this command ( with detailed instuction about how to go about it). They prefer Malachi -where the people were rebuked for not obeying/ following God's instruction on the matter. As though Malachi gave the law.

IMHO the issue of tithes on this forum will never be resolved until God upgrades his collection method.

In the old days you will simply gather-up your harvest and arrange them in a bush-burning bonfire and pray the wafting scent of your first fruits are appealing to God thus the completion of your tithe.

Then came temples and places of worship where you were now instructed to pay in coins rather than fruits and lamb-chops which could not be stored and generally made a mess of the area (since God does not exactly eat the tithes)

Now we have people tithing online, Standing order on their Bank Account, Dangerous tithes etc. Sanusi please focus your reforms heavenly, there should be a holding account that CBN can wire tithes straight to God's account without delays. pronto

THE TITHE TO EAT IS DIFFERENT!

The tithes to share with the poor was a different tithe which is laid aside every three years only. It is different from the tithe that is taken to Gods house.

Deuteronomy 14:28-29
28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay[ it] up within thy gates: 29 And the Levite,( because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which[ are] within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

 The normal general tithe is taken into Gods store house?

Malachi 3:10
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that[ there shall] not[ be room] enough[ to receive it]. 


Deuteronomy 12:11
11 Then there shall be a place which the Lord your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:


It's just like when God says the land should rest in the 7th year and only the poor should go and harvest , that doesn't apply to every season.

11 But the seventh[ year] thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard,[ and] with thy oliveyard. 

Was it the priests or the people that God was talking to in Malachi? Reading from Mal 1: 6 shows the truth.

Please tell us then - who was supposed to bring tithe into the store house? Note this was the tithe of the tithe that the priests were stealing. Just like you people do today

Is it the devil or your god mamon that continuosly pushes you to butcher scriptures like this Deut 14:22 makes it clear that it is the yearly tithes that shd be eaten wilst verse 28 of the same passage asked the israelites to remember firstly the poor before the levites in the third year, a caveat was even given for remembering the levite being they had no inheritance. That caveat is not being put into practise today by the criminals that demand tithes. But then again those scriptures and malachi 3:10 are not relevant to us today as God NEVER asked christians to tithe. Tithing today is a false and fraudulent doctrine designed by men and that is why it bears no semblence the various examples of tithes instructed to the acient israelites.
