No fewer than 15 suspected Boko Harams territories have been killed by 242 Battalion of the Nigerian Army Troops, in conjunction with elements of Sector 2 Multinational Joint Task Force and Chadian Defence Forces, in Borno State.

This was disclosed by Col. Aminu Iliyasu, Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, in a statement released by the Army on Friday in Abuja.

The troops was said to have encountered the terrorist on Thursday, when they laid an ambushed for them(The Army) at Jigalta Villag, which is about 27km away from Borno while they were on a jet clearance operation.

According to Aminu the troop commander of the sector 3 Operation LAFIA DOLE, Major-General Abdulmalik Bui, applauded the troops while he paid courtesy visit to them at the location of the encounter.

He visited the location along side with Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Buratia as well as Force Commander MNJTF, Major-General Chikezie Ude who also said words of encouragement to the troops.
