SEX FOR MARKS

You are my glimmer of hope,

The ember of smile.

My only child

Must be a doctor, otherwise

A failure.

Mum said,

As I seek admission to College.



I went with feelings to make

Mum smile and make dad's

Grave grin,

I fed on theories and

Quenched thirst with

Mathematical formulas.

I was ready to develop

Cancer care with algorithm.



But I ended up passing few courses

And hope was plummeting

To roadside ditch.

Mum would join dad soon,

I foresaw her dream!



My lecturer became saint

And offered to help

If I grace his bed,

Otherwise I kill my dreams -

A dilemma for me and poison

For mum.

Mum pressure on the right and

Lecturer's pressure on the left,

Like a lamb facing lions.


What would be my end,

Mum's death or lecturers choice?

I am in an oven burning my skin

With barbecue smell.

I need to live with my pace

With no side pressures
