You think you are wise but you are not. All he needs to do is to pen down the shoprite in his song as shooryt, the fact that they have the same pronunciation doesn't make it your own. Besides, what you have is audio. And I hope you also know that shoprite PLC, shoprite ltd and shoprite are three different things in the eyes of the law. Also, their is what is called implied consent or so. By admitting the audio for use without legal action against Faruk, shoprite had impliedly consented to the use its name by Faruk.

A lot of people don't read contents of a topic,they just read the topic and jump straight to comment section. The man submitted the song to Shoprite for jingle consideration, they have no rights to use it without his knowledge. Even worse he wasn't paid for it. Shoprite deserves the lawsuit, it's best for them to agree on an out of court settlement k
