All these stories will not help anyone who is really intent on committing suicide. You better start teaching them about how to get therapy for their depression. Even pastors are committing suicide these days. So drop the empty words and ineffectual scriptures.

If the Bible has not stop your pastors from telling lies everyday on the altar, faking miracles and sleeping with your wives, it will not stop anyone sufficiently motivated from committing suicide.

Well,

1.This is an article about why people should not commit sucide from a Chrstian perspective. It isn't about the state of mental health services in Nigeria.

2.Yes, they shoudl get mental services help. But the problem is, mental health services in Nigeria are grossly inadequate. We don;t have enough psychiatirsts, psychologists, etc. We don't even have enough facilties.

3.And solving the problem means more MONEY. But since most Nigerians are allergic to things like tax increases, hospital fee increases, and prosecuting their favourite corrupt politican.....

4.In the US...and I suspect OP cribbed this from an American site...there are enough mental health facilkties, and yes, Christians over there work with such people. There are even trained christian specialists (and sometimes religion can be helpful...not just christian).

See no body care if u are ok or not its only when u've taken ur life u see people commenting and blaming the person... Me here frustration and depression is killing me... Depression knows doesn’t understand Christianity or Islam or your tribes.

There are circumstances that might lead one to commit suicide and that alone makes it more difficult to tell if the fellow will make heaven or hell. e.g Abimilech, Samson, Zimri, Ahithophel, Saul and Judas all committed suicide in the Bible but non were similar to each other. Among them were prophets of God and the ordinary.

Even the Bible does not condemn anyone for self elimination and that is not enough justification for suicide but we should not judge.
God knows it all.

In summary suicide is a sin in the sight of God and express road to hell.
