If you're driving Mercedes Benz E63 AMG at a speed of 120km per hour and I am driving a Toyota Corolla 1.4 at same speed of 120km per hour and we are both driving the same direction, Is 120km on AMG the same as Toyota Corolla or is faster? |

Someone was still arguing this thing with me last week that in some cars 100km/hr is faster than others at same speed. I just laughed. The mistake a lot of people make is they don't know the difference between mph and km/hr. So in a car that is calibrated in mph, doing 62mph is faster than a car doing 90km/hr 1 Like |

Op was trying to ask if AMG's 120km/hr is the same for corolla's 120km/hr. It's the same bro. They will both arrive their same destination same time. However, OP should know that the time for the cars to reach that 120km/h mark differs. it will take less time for AMG to reach 120km/h (abt 4secs) than a corrola to reach same speed. A 1.4L corolla will take time to reach 120km/h, say 35secs. That is where the real difference is. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Op see this is the simple difference, while AMG is cruising 120km/hr it will be running probably 1500-2000 RPM, while corolla will be around 2500-3000 RPM cruising 120km/hr... Same speed, head to head, same arrival time but different RPM 2 Likes |

Its the same so far its the same factory custom wheels that the car came with. One car could be using more power than the other to achieve the same result one car could have a better aero and down force than the other car |

Some of them dey this thread dey observe on a low key Years ago when I knew nothing about cars, I had an argument with my cousins on this topic. I tried in vain to convince them they were wrong. For where, they shut me down and said I've never even "driven" a bicycle and I'm arguing with them who have years of driving experience. These were well educated guys... |

Yes. Speed is the same, what might divers is the acceleration. AMG accelerates to that speed way faster than corolla. So from a starting point, AMG accelerate to 120km/h faster than corolla and if more speed is required, A corolla will top out of further acceleration and speed At about 180km/h which could only be sustained for not too long before damaging your engine. On the other hand, Some powerful engines like AMG could accommodate more speed to the tune on close to 300Km/h and sustain the speed for a longer period of time. 2 Likes |

Fentanyl: his question is a valid question. The 1st time any student would come across acceleration and speed is elementary science in primary 5 and 6 and only explained as a scalar and vector quantity nothing more. In the secondary level we have Arts, commercial and science students. Except you can prove beyond reasonable doubt he was a science student then we can fault him. Also in University level only science students did PHSXXX acceleration and speed were only taught in MTS as calculation not explanation. his question is a valid one, he should have just used engine size like 6.0L V12 vs 2.0L I4 because if the tribalism between Toyota and Benz on this here forum  peace. |
