According to one of our sources" Saraki is the least favourable. The argument is simple, he is not "northern" enough for those in the north east and north wes.

The north is neva comin back atleast not this time,  The minority sholud try.

Saraki shame on you.

What is the essence of a fight you are not goin to win. Atiku can fight GEJ for as long as he wants, he will neva win.

ROTFLMAOOO

good lesson for middle belters, when the noise for zonning commences, they would be conscripted under the "north"

when time reach to share the "cake" amongst the "north" the middle belters would now not be "north enof"

as for the sariki family,  cry cry cry cry cry cry cry

pity as no 1 out of their generation would smell that coveted office!!!

they have bin rejected by the north and have already burnt their bridge to the SW through campaigning as a northerner,

MIDDLE BELTERS ARE NOT NORTHERNERS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE REAL SENSE OF IT, ALL WE DO IS ESCORT THE NORTH TO EXALTED POSITIONS WITH ALL LOYALTY, LIKE A DOG THAT CATCHES A GAME FOR HIS MASTER. CORE NORTHERNERS SEE MIDDLE BELTERS AS INSTRUMENTS OF POLITICAL DOMINATION, BARGAINING CHIPS AND IT ENDS AT THAT. BUKOLA OR ABUBAKAR, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL.

MIDDLE BELTERS ARE FAR FROM BEING NORTHERNERS!

Either the Northern elder or whatever believes it or not it is NOT people like IBB or Atiku has questionable character that will defeat GEJ in 2011. The North PDP are not yet serious, it is better now for them to go and get a credible person to come and represent them in 2011 orelse the humuliation will be too much for them to bear because IBB and Atiku has got nothing to sell again even in their zone(North) talkless of South West or South East or South South and they can not rig the election because the sitting president is contesting so they are at a very tight corner.

funny enough, people look at the North as one united zone and and south as being made up 3 separate, disjointed zones. They talk about the pact b/w the north and the SS, North and SE, North and SW as if the north is one of only 4 geopolitical zones in the country. But it is more than that, the North has 3 different, maybe overlapping geopolitical zones just like the south and thus their will always be division/discrimination along such lines. Middle belt (North Central) become the weeping boys of Northern politics because the seeming overlapping of the Northern zones does not cover them. This is due to language and religious barriers. We have a lot of tribes in the MB with very many diff languages. . .that are not close to Hausa. Majority of the MBs are also Christians as against the dominant Islam in the North. If they continue to argue north and south zoning, I don't see an MB person in Aso Rock xcpt in case of death or impeachment.

I 'm not a fan of zoning but if we must zone, then the present north-south formula is a fraud. The true zoning I prescribe is among the 6 zones we have (NC, SW, NW, SE, NE and SS). with this arrangement, minorities are sure of going there someday.

Funnily, that is exactly what the PDP constitution recommends for for sharing out offices after the President has been chosen. You would imagine that those trying to twist zoning in their favour would come from the Northwest like Yar Adua (RIP), but they are from elsewhere (aside from Gusau); therefore from their actions alone, zoning is a fraud that will never produce a minority President. Like all minorities in the country, the Ciroma's see Middle Belters as mere tools.

The best for now is GEJ. Buhari shud get a protege, anoint a younger, healthier and person with fine records and people will be inclined to follow. That was what Sardauna (Ahmadu Bello) did with Tafawa Balewa and he went on to defeat Zik and Awo (who were in the same league with his godfather, Bello) and became Prime Minister. People shud know when to pass on the touch and not allow the fire extinguish with them. They are not vampires. . .they grow old and will ultimately die. Zik and Awo did not know when to bow out, that was y Shagari, also fro sardauna, disgraced them in 1979 and 1983. we tend to do "until death do us path" with politics and power

So far sooooooooooo good for GEJ.
If Atiku represent the best that Ciroma and co can bring to ask us to drop Jonathan, the they need to have a re-think.
Fact is GEJ is far far better than them. From all indications, with someone like GEJ whom even as sitting president, there is no sign that anybody is afraid of him, our democracy has the best chance to grow. Just imagine him cutting short his official engagement to personally sit in a meeting with NLC/TUC. Nigerians know for sure that if it was IBB era, the unions would have been proscribed and they will have to operate under a new name. Baba OBJ would simply have ignored them till say about 2 weeks after pleas from all religious and traditional leaders before he will allow his Minister (certainly not himself) to talk to the lowly workers.
Any Nigerian who truly loves this country knows that unlike GEJ calmness during the Yar'adua's wee days, Atiku would have for personal gains go to court and threaten fire and brimstones for any delay such as GEJ endured.
FOR ONCE, THE MAJORITY OF NIGERIANS SHOULD THINK RIGHT. GEJ IS OUR MAN COME 2011.

How do 9gerians judge to knw a good leader? Gej is making ways in 9geria for real democracy to thrive. Obj and Atiku are biblical 1+1=1. Gausu and Ribadu has not been tested nationally in elective office d4 lack experience, saraki will bring in his kwara way of leadership, ibb is worst. Gej is the best for now, 2011 and beyond

I see a point here. Compare this era with obj/Atiku ere and u will give credit to jonathan. He congratulated Fayemi on his victory. . .it gives the new gov a sense of belonging. Obj/Atiku wud av told everybody that it is no over. . .that pdp will soon capture Ekiti. GEJ is more law abiding than all of them. The North may have chosen the best of their three four sons but they have not given us a better candidate than the incumbent. People like me won't change for the sake of it. . . we will change from bad to good/ good to better and not the other way round. Atiku is totally worse than GEJ and thus, will fail.

Donmeca u finally trying to agree that indeed Yaradua is the father of modern Nigeria, a better nigeria, where political differences would not affectr our national decisions, Yaradua was the first president to ask a sitting gov from his party to vacate office peacefully, Andy Uba.

The selection of Atiku just shows that the North has no better alternative to Jonathan.

A man who almost threw the country into chaos because of his disagreement with his boss vs a man who stood by his boss while he was easing him out of offfice,

A man who spent $40b hosting COJA vs a man who spent N17b hosting world cup and gave us change after the tournament

A man who said he didnt steal as much as his principal vs a man who said he didnt steal anything.

Nigerians the choice is yours, as for me and my family and friends we have chosen to stand for a breath of fresh air, Goodluck Nigeria!!!!

While i acknowledge the efforts of GEJ's recent activities, they are still too familiar with other pre-election campaigns by the ruling president and same at the state level down to LGA. All i know is that all these parties are corrupt and PDP is ranked high while ACN is the lowest.

Marvix, my argument with u was never centered on Yaradua and d rule of law. . .may be on the persecution of Ribadu and Yaradua's trip to and fro Saudi. In both instances, I've come out tops. we are together on Jonathan for 2011 till I see a better candidate from anywhere in the country.

Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) may have emerged as the anointed choice of the Mallam Adamu Ciroma led Northern Political Leaders Forum, (NPLF) Committee, Daily Sun has learnt.

Findings have revealed that while the Committee had been torn between the choice of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, it decided to settle for the latter following informed comments of a former military governor and Adjutant-General of the Nigerian Army, who is a member of the committee, who impressed it on his colleagues the wisdom on the choice of IBB.

‘’He had told them that the former civilian president and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, [PDP] Board of Trustees, [BoT], Chief Olusegun Obasanjo had pitched tent with President Goodluck Jonathan and the North should settle for someone, who also enjoys considerable influence and goodwill among retired and serving military officers and would be able to square up with Obasanjo and Jonathan as far as the military class is concerned’’.
The Daily Sun source revealed that from the extensive consultations done by the committee, it discovered that the former Vice President and Action Congress [AC] presidential candidate in 2007, Atiku enjoys the sympathy of opinion leaders in the North, because of the political persecution he suffered in the hands of his former boss, Obasanjo, “but wise counsel prevailed on the choice of IBB.’’

Meanwhile, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct National Republican Convention, [NRC] and one-time Special Adviser on Media to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo , Dr Doyin Okupe, had expressed concern over the efforts of the Mallam Adamu Ciroma committee to pick an anointed candidate, as the choice of the North for the PDP presidential ticket.

Speaking with journalists Tuesday in Abuja, the PDP stalwart noted that such a regional project could undermine the nation’s democracy. ‘’The consensus candidate that Malam Ciroma has been advocating for and has become a crusader is a very dangerous trend, in a democracy, because we have never had a situation like this before where a particular region will make it compulsory and try by all means possible to bring just one candidate, as if he is going to work with all other regions.

“It isn’t right; it is something that should be roundly condemned by all. Leaders, particularly from the North, should call Adamu Ciroma to order. That at this stage of his life, he should not be doing such things, if he has not been able to help Nigeria to develop, he shouldn’t not at the later years of his life destroy Nigeria. “When you pick a Northern consensus candidate and you have to go and contest, what do you expect the Southern candidate, or Southern leaders to do. They must accept whatever you have chosen. This Northern candidate, are they going to be voted for only in the North. These are issues that are begging for answers and people aren’t really asking Mallam Ciroma.

“Democracy should be played according to the rules of the game and I think we have a constitution that guides us according to the rules of the game. Okupe called on former presidents to prevail on Ciroma, who is former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, [CBN], to halt the Committee of wise men set up by the NPLF, so as not to balkanize the country.

‘’ Anything that is extra- constitutional should be condemned by all of us. It isn’t right ; I think and I believe very, very strongly that Mallam Ciroma and his group are still holding on to this doctrine of North- for- North, South- for South, which has lost application. It has no meaning in modern day Nigeria. If they are still working on such a platform, then we should actually be discussing how to dismember this country, because this thing, (consensus candidate) doesn’t make sense. You mean you have to galvanise an entire section of the country to support a particular candidate? This thing is moving from a political thing to a national warfare.’’Okupe said.

We are talking about a New Nigeria, devoid or something close to a society that corruption would be reduced to the barest minimal level as much God can grant us the grace to do, ATIKU? How did he amass his wealth? how much was he earning in customs and other public offices he had held to have become so rich. How about the Haliburton scam? the petroleum trust fund?. That is a man who accepted that the looted the PTF funds, that he was not alone in it, that ObJ too. May God help or save Nigeria from this evil looters.

Just pity most of these people commenting on this issue. The question I will love to ask is that "Are we looking foe a credible candidate that will be in the path of truth or we are just looking for a president? If the answer to my former question is on the affirmative, then we need somebody like GEJ who has been tested for some time now and who is believed to have the interest of 9ja people at heart as been displayed by the recent result of election tribunals. Can anybody dare to do this during OBJ regime.
Also, we can see that GEJ is being castigated by the Northern Oligarchy because he is not among them and he is somebody that was not born with silver spoon in his mouth and without blue blood. If he can become the president of this country. I believe hope is alive for anybody aspire to this height. GEJ needs our support and for the love and and betterment of this country, he is the only credible candidate for now.
