Lagos state government should as much as possible checkmate the incessant defecation into the water bodies by homeless urchins and touts.

I just can't wrap my head around such barbaric practices, was at the island the other day and saw some guys passing excreta into the water and on plain view, so disgusting, the whole of the water around idumota has turned brown because of excessive defecating and urinating into it..

I'm thrilled toward this development..Sw is making much progess. Even within 2 yrs to come ogun state too will turn to lagos.

Dreamer....the worst thing to possibly happen to Ogun state is to take any kind of semblance to Lagos, Lagos is a disaster as currently configured and administered, Ogun authorities should do well not to make the mistakes of Lagos.

This is the time to put in strategic planning and stringent regulations to avert the impending chaos which Lagos is identified with.

After 200 days in power Sanwo-Olu can now boast of an achievement. He bought canoe for the state.
Tinubu would soon replace him with MC Oluomo I laff in Bourdillon.

If your state governors past and present are better you will not be selling Gala and La Casera in Lagos holdups. Go back to your state. Lagos indegenes are not complaining.

Beginning to notice that AutoReportNG might be part of the Bourdillon Bullion Gang...
Nothing against Sanwo-Olu, but like a few other AutoReport posts credit is never given to the Ambode administration that acquired these ferries.

Even the bit about online purchase of tickets is all part of the Ambode administration’s Intelligent Transport System (ITS), which would not only allow for online ticket purchases but also for commute planning and intermodal transfer between ferries and buses (and ultimately the light rail trains as well) without having to buy multiple tickets. Finally, in respect of route development, it was also a carryover from the Ambode administration which was dredging and developing 9 major ferry routes in Lagos (the marine equivalent of road highways), following years of fighting with the National Inland Waterways Authority (which by law under Nigeria’s bizarre “federal” system controlled inland waterways) for control of Lagos’ inland waters (litigation that was in fairness carried over from the Fashola administration). PLEASE GIVE CREDIT WHERE DUE!

cheesycheesycheesy... You are funny! No one gets more attack than us cos we do try to clear the facts from the figures. We have never said that Sanwo-Olu bought these ferries, we all know that Ambode bought these boats and he commissioned them before leaving office.

We do give credit but this is a press release by the LASG and we can't add or edit it. Please check on our site to read more about these boats, you will see we try to be factual.

For the records, no politicians or states pay us for our report, we are self-funded and we have never been tipped to write a compromise story or report, our integrity is all that counts.

AutoReportNG:
The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Ferry Services, LAGFERRY, will ferry an average of 480,000 passengers via the waterways as it progresses in its commercial operations due to commence next month in commemoration of 200 days of the Sanwo-Olu led administration.

The Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde disclosed this during his working visit to the LAGFERRY office at Mile-2, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Olawale Musa and other management staff.

He lauded the agency’s efforts and preparations on advancing water transportation including boat tests, and critical assessment of 30 key routes with the aid of drones, promising the Ministry's support to ensure that the agency remains effective to sustain the safe use of the waterways by citizens.

Oladeinde also stated that the agency will work hand in hand with LAMATA to incorporate the ferry system into the central ticketing and billing system to coordinate the modes of transportation in the State.

The Managing Director, LAGFERRY, Mr Abdoulbaq Ladi-Balogun, while briefing the Commissioner, stated that the agency is working with its counterparts, the Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources as well as the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure to rid the water channels of wreckages and debris which are the main causes of mishaps on the waterways.

He revealed that the agency is looking to drive its operations via technology by creating an application that will allow passengers to make online ticket bookings for their trips ahead of time to create ease and reduce loading time.

Ladi-Balogun also mentioned that the agency is keen on commencing commercial boat activities, through its already existing routes, to decongest the roads and ultimately ease movement from one place to another, adding that riverine communities like coconut, Snake Island, Badagry and Ikorodu are clamouring for effective waterways transportation along the axis.

He proferred that goods and vehicles could also be moved off the roads to their various destinations on water through high capacity barges.

According to LAGFerry, in a bid to ensure a wonderful experience on our ferries, we are providing free wifi to every passenger on board as well as an electrical power outlet to charge your phones and gadgets. We are putting a lot into consideration.

See photos of the ferries that will launch as from November.

This is good!
But I must say APC is "about" to fail us in Lagos. The state of Lagos roads is terrible. The roads which needed rehabilitation now require total reconstruction.
These roads were constructed by fashola or continuously maintained by his administration.
Ambode left these roads unmaintained resulting in total breakdown.
This has resulted in heavy traffic, destruction of businesses and poor face of the state. The state is now very ugly.
I don't care if Ambode was ousted for same reasons. He was initially placed there by Apc and they should have known about his incompetence before installing him...
Sanwoolu has a lot to do but we hope he does because I don't see him as serious...
If Sanwoolu does not perform "more" than expectation, we will happily deliver Lagos to PDP
Keep dreaming, PDP kò PDP ni.

It is truly disgusting to witness in 21st century Nigeria, and should be addressed holistically.
