he is being humorous. Why Dominica of all places? I think it's a tax haven. Apart from tax benefits, the country lacks the clout to protect you if you are in trouble in another country. Imagine if you he was to be given 100 good quality strokes on his bare bumbum for drinking alcohol in Saudi Arabia. A plea from the US ambassador to the Saudi authorities to pardon him will simply close the case were he American citizen. Davido may already be an American citizen and wants to renounce it because they tax their citizens on their global income. So if he does a show in Nigeria, he still has to pay tax to the American government after he has paid that to the Nigerian government. That's why many Europeans born in the States renounce their US citizenship yearly. Well, if Davido has no plans to drink alcohol in Saudi Arabia, he can go ahead. |
