I lost my Dad, when I was barely 13, in 1973, and was left with a poor unlettered Mum, who struggled so much to send me to school... A novel, WEEP NOT, CHILD by the Kenyan author, NGUGI WA THIONG'O opened my eyes to the importance of education.
