In the spirit and letters of ease of doing business and the reality that digitalization has brought in this time and age, I find it had to believe that banks are still demanding for letter of introduction or asking their would be client to fill and return letter of introduction before they can open certain account.

The funniest part is that these banks will still state even in colours ink on those forms: ‘CAUTION’ IT IS DANGEROUS TO INTRODUCE A PERSON WHO IS NOT WELL KNOWN TO YOU. This from GTB’s form that is with me at moment.

Why is it that when we will copy something from another country, we always refused to paste it rightly, instead we prefer to paste it wrongly, why?

BVN, Nigeria International passport, drivers licence, national identity card and even voter cards, all have biometrics signatures in them which enables persons finger (10) prints to be captured during registrations.

Any of the above document is more than enough to open any account

So, why are banks still demanding for introduction letters?

CBN should wake up from their slumber and put a stop to this old archaic practice, please.

You are right OP.

CBN need to sanction banks that fails to keep functional ATM at bank premises and also sanction banks that fails to load their machines with cash.

All we need are numbers to call and report matters of these nature.
