Although I don't smoke, yet after reading this news, it occurred to me that I can invest some money into my lands in the village by fencing them with a gate and planting Indian hemp only... after all it is located around forests area.
Imagine the income I stand to gain instead of allowing the lands to lay untouched.
Weed is medicinal.
Abusing it is unhealthy.
It's high time this government legalized that thing.

Properly managed, C. sativa could be a useful and profitable crop for Nigeria, including for export. There are both medicinal and recreational strains. Why not rethink it as a legal cash crop?

Legalize it don't criticize it and i will advertise it... in Peter Tosh voice.
It is rather unfortunate that those arresting people on this, are the same people taking it as food daily.

Useless country!

What is wrong cultivating it, misplaced priorities

Maybe the law prohibits planting it though, I recently watched a documentary on Nat Geo. Planting coca leaves isn't a crime in Peru it's when processed into paste the first step in cocaine production that it becomes an criminal offence.. so you aren't entirely wrong

Correspondent Olutayo Famous Cole reports that the latest discovery shocked officials of the national drug law enforcement agency who have been taken aback at the sight of this cannabis farm ready for cultivation. harvesting.

The NDLEA has vowed to burst the drug syndicate and rid the society of drug use and abuse. It however wants cultivators to engage in more viable crops that can do the society more harm than good. good than harm

because we are Nigerians, we have a strong need to act moral/saintly in the open even if that's not who we really are.
