As a we designer, we all want to get a client for our profession to make a meaning. And believe me, I get it.

While there are ways to handle Ugly clients, which is a case study for another day, the truth is, the hardest thing to learn is how to read people and how to handle them.

Enough of the talking, let's see how to get clients as a web designer. There are basically 2 ways - FREE & PAID.

FREE
#1.
Ask them!

Just ask people if they need a website or re-design (if they really need it, and I am sure there is a bunch of sites that need some re-design).

You may be lucky if you think so, but I can blatantly tell you that no one will contact you and ask, "Hey buddy, can you make me a website". You are a beginner; no one knows you, and even if you are not a beginner, just ask them.

Where to find them?

Start locally, and mostly Instagram or Twitter for that. A lot of business promotes its business on Instagram Twitter and Facebook, and that's a great way how to find clients.

Start with searching for dental, real estate, and other companies in your town and they will start showing to you on FB Twitter and Instagram.


The Big one....

So, what to do when you find them?

Send them a message something like:

"Hey, I saw your ad right now, and I can see that you don't have a website. I don't know if you have a plan to have one, but I am making websites, so if you are interested and I can send you an offer in the e-mail, and how the site can look? You can check my work at yoursite.com"

PAID - Buy a Banner on Nairaland or a websites with High Traffic

See, if you believe that there is a fair reward for hard work, you will discover that if you invest in your business, you will be rewarded. I have had to run Facebook ads with N3,000 to see, and end up getting 3X of that.

So, test things out, and the good thing is that you have a dedicated page for WEB MASTERS here at NL, so, you can easily try the weekly payment plan (unless there is no weekly payment plan). I guess N8,000+ a week.
