1.Of the 8 international Northern airports...only 2 (Abuja and Kano) can ACTUALLY handle international flights.(and abuja really doesn't count) Kaduna used to be able to, and did so temporalily last year, but since then....

2.Lagos and Port Harcourt can handle international flights. Enugu is under renovation (after being certified unsafe...and you folks wanted it to be kept open despite being unsafe because 'pride').

3.Just because they call airport international, does not mean it is international.

4.And regionalisim means increased taxes. Because there is no way the South South would agree for the other regions to taste oil money again under regions.

The North and the British created a situation were the country would be governed by the highly iliterate and highly uneducated North. The Southerners are very educated. And that has been their strength from time immemorial. The North who practice Islam cannot compete with the south. So they destroyed the educational system there limiting the amount of people who can challenge the status quo and think critically. Federal character and quota system was enacted because of the inadequacies of the North but 50 years later,the North is worse than before. As I have always said,Nigeria can never move beyond what it is because the Northerners are the leaders of this country politically. If you want to know how Nigeria and Nigerians would be in the next 25 years,just look at the North and look at its people..

Back to your write up, Are all those northern airports you mentioned built by their respective state gov'ts or by the federal govt? Where do the federal allocations being given to southern states go to? Ask your state govts and hold them accountable? Classifying northern airports as international airports is as a result of them airlifting passengers yearly directly to Saudi (which is an int'l destination), not that there is any benefit they will derive from such.
