BUHARI, OSINBAJO WILL, TOGETHER, SCRIPT A GLORIOUS FUTURE FOR NIGERIA

The Presidency wishes to confirm that there is, on-going, an unprecedented overhaul of the nation’s seat of government, arising from which a number of political appointments have either been revoked or not renewed in the Second Term.

The exercise, which has been ordered by the President, is to streamline decision-making, cut down multiple authorities and reduce the cost of administration.

It is also an appropriate response to the general perception that the Presidency has an oversized and bloated workforce which acts as a drag on efficiency.

As may have been noticed by discerning members of the public, a number of political appointees among the few that served in the office of the President were not returned for the Second Term.

The office of the Vice President, His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo has, in compliance with the directive of the President, equally been shed of a number of such appointees.

In carrying out these exercises, the overriding objective is to save taxpayer money and deliver needed service to the public. As far as the President is concerned, there is no scope for an excuse for administration after getting a huge mandate to run the country for four more years.

In the light of this, the Presidency wishes to strongly deny rumours of a rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The relationship between the two leaders remains excellent and trusting. Together, they will script a glorious future for the nation.

The media reports of a soured relationship are originating from the minds and mouths of mischief makers, who are desperate for entertaining stories from the Aso Rock Villa with which to titillate the public. This ulterior motive is the basis of the wrong interpretation given to the recent exercise in the Presidency.

There has been a streamlining of staff going on for a while. The President has always had fewer staff than the Vice President, and there were always plans to reduce the number of staff at the Villa.

The streamlining was not personal or targeted to undermine the Vice President's office, as the so-called insider sources quoted by the media appear to make it seem.

The President is in absolute control of his government. The media should stop attributing non-existent powers to some people. There cannot be anyone too powerful for President Buhari to control.

The important thing to note here is that there was a sack and the vp office is involved, irrespective the fact that they have earlier debunked it.... no matter the Baptismal name given, sack still remains sack

Out of millions of ways available, the only way Buhari can cut cost is to sack Osinbajo's aides

Well, certainly over 80 aides for any VP is way too much but it should have being handled with more tact and discretion.

I think some people are blowing this out of proportion. What is wrong in reducing the cost of government. The real question is what is Osinbajo (a vice president) doing with 80+ aids! Is it national assembly!
I understand that Mr Buhari (he's not my president) is undermining the VP but if we want to put sentiment aside and look at this critically, having 85 aids is too much for one man!
I know it's none of my business since they are not paying them directly from my account but anything to take food off the tables of some pot belly thieves will always look good to me!

The fact is, they people blowing this out of proportion are the Sacked aids. They are seeking public sympathy using Osinbajo as a tool.

Stop shifting the goal post
Those aids are not redundant, they are doing specific work in the office of the vice president.
Why were they denying the sack if it was done in good faith?

Shouldn't the government be proud to announce such a move to bolster its image?

It is obvious that the sack has nothing to do with efficiency.

You said 80 aides are too much.
Then why the need for discretion when the government is doing the right thing?
We all know this government is fond of polishing its image through the media, the only
reason the sack wasn't publicized is that it was done in bad faith.

So, finally, they no longer live in denial, but realize now that they must reduce the size of governance from the vice president's office.
Are they saying that, there are no additional resources to be retrenched also in the president's office.

There are 4 main things that cannot be hidden for so long;

1. The sun
2. Moon
3. Pregnancy and the
4. Truth...

We would all be looking out and posterity will bear us witness over time...

Truth finally triumps over lies. Coming from a regime that denied sacking Osimbajo's aids in the first place. They had to go and package their lies following public outburst that the sacking was done to reduce cost of governance. But buhari is busy signing bills in London.
Bloody useless regime.
