The job of a,senator is to making laws that will help the country to move forward. To build road, schools, hospital is not there jobs. We electorate we didn't know the jobs of the people we are voting for. The truth is DAT since the executives have failed to build roads, hospital , school. They are looking at other elected officers too to share part of it too. Constituency allowance given to a senator is just a bribe to give them a bad name. To me as person constituency allowance is to help them build there political image

People should learn to commend politicians a little too, no matter how little. He's not the governor of the state so the little he did is something.

Do you know that if you choose to serve in government there are certain tasks, duties and responsibilities that you MUST carry out through government to make life better for the people. Because the citizens pay taxes, life ought to be better for the people.

Clean and good water is the responsibility of government and the officials of government. The citizens do not need praise or applaud them.

The lawmakers were the ones who proposed the constituency allowance during the time of Obasanjo.

And the reason why they said they wanted it was for them to provide their constituencies the dividends of democracy.

So, it is not out of place to expect infrastructures from your representative in the National Assembly (whether Senate or Reps).

In case you don't know, the constituency allowances are included in the budget annually, and it runs into billions of naira. That is taxpayers' money, and so it is not out of place for us to demand better use of funds for which we are taxed.

Read and understand the duties of legislator before writing rubbish. If they pay them constituency allowance and you don't know why they pay them this allowance or what the allowance should be used for, just question the authority in charge.
