A tragic accident occurred today at Vinikling bridge (Hayin Gada) in Yola, Adamawa State as about 20 people were crushed to death after a trailer loaded with farm produce overran several tricycles a.k.a Keke Napep.

Victims of the accident who were crushed to death by the trailer being chased by police officers after its driver refused giving them money have been evacuated to a hospital in Yola. Daily Post reported that some residents of the community said the police told them they were chasing the truck driver for carrying goods suspected to be foreign rice.

“But, there was no foreign rice in the truck, it was farm produce. The driver said they were chasing him for refusing to give them money at a checkpoint the police mounted,” a resident of the community, Umar Shehu said.

A student of Modibo Adama University, Salisu Ibrahim also recounted how he escaped getting crushed by the truck.

“I did not know what happened, but we suddenly saw the truck coming with speed and police van was pursuing it. All of us in our Keke Napep jumped out and fled, the driver lost control and the truck began to hit other Keke Napep and crushing people before our very own eyes. It was horrific,” Ibrahim said.

Subhanallah! High adrenaline rush is seriously affecting us Nigerians. We easily become agitated, even with the smallest issue that can be resolved amicably. May the dead rest in Peace.

Our security and military officials have NO regard for human lives. Even our govt as a whole. None at all. Soldier, police, SARS, Navy...every single arm is lawless.
Well, I can't blame them cos even the FG isn't abiding by the court's order to free Sowore. I'm neither for or against Sowore but he has attracted the international community.

Our Constitution is a joke! It's a totally ineffectual piece of paper. No body works with it anymore.

In saner climes, the security personnel are subjected to appraisals but in Naija, one SARS officer can arrest someone and hold such in hostage without any fear.
Police men can shoot anybody they don't like, and there's no prosecution.
Soldiers nko? Na their own worse. They can beat up any civilian that tries to reason with them.
Even Navy is doing nonsense upandan.
SARS officers have been known to arrest people based on zero evidence. Then they'll demand #100k as bail, depending on how rich they perceive you to be. Stupid people. They've approached me before...thank God for always protecting me.
Nigeria is totally lawless.
Those policemen who chose to act very stupidly should be tried and prosecuted for their contribution to endangering the lives of others.
20 people! That's mass murder.

As for the truck drivers...death by hanging ni straight. Kosi time!

PS: For those stupidos called policeboys: it's a truck not a bicycle. You can't lose it that easily. Why were you chasing it when you could've relented a bit while trailing it then strategize? This is common sense...wait, oh, I forgot our security personnel lack common sense.
