Drought Kills 200 Elephants in Zimbabwe – Official

More than 200 elephants have died amid a severe drought and a mass relocation of animals is planned to ease congestion, Zimbabwe’s parks agency says.
Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority spokesman Tinashe Farawo said at least 200 elephants have died in vast Hwange National Park alone since October and other parks are affected.

A/Ibom Guber Appeal: Again Gov. Udom Floors Ekere

The Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar on Wednesday affirmed that Gov. Udom Emmanuel of the PDP was duly elected in the March 9 gubernatorial elections in Akwa Ibom State.
Giving judgement in an appeal filed by APC’s candidate Nsima Ekere against the Tribunal Verdict which upheld the election of Gov. Udom, the Appellate court held that the petition was without merit.

In the Sept. 5 verdict by Tribunal which dismissed Ekere’s petition for wanting in merit, it held that the petitioner could not lead credible evidence to prove his claims that the elections were not conducted in substantial compliance with the Electoral Act.

China Launches 5 Satellites With One Rocket

Five new remote-sensing satellites were sent into planned orbit from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in north China’s Shanxi Province on Wednesday.
The five Ningxia-1 satellites were launched by a Long March-6 carrier rocket at 2:35 p.m. (Beijing time).
The satellites are part of a commercial satellite project invested by the Ningxia Jingui Information Technology Co., Ltd., and will be mainly used for remote-sensing detection.
