BB Naija has finished but now that you mentioned it before I used to see like 40 notifications in my follow boards but now.

It is disheartening, honestly speaking, Nigerians are slowly becoming Zombies.

The energy these many young chaps put into learning the art of internet fraud, would have produced amazing economic results had it been channelled into learning software programming and tech in general.

I can't really wrap my head around why most people are super motivated to earn a living through illegal means. I mean internet fraud requires you use a computer and other software tools, but so does programming. So why don't you choose the legal way? Greed? Okay.

Reddit has so many programming sections filled up with people ready to learn, offer solutions, and share ideas. Here is totally opposite, sadly.

I won't say I don't blame them but guy sometimes you may end up in a tight corner and that may be the only choice. But, the yahoo boys I have been seeing either have rich parents or they would keep on doing it even when they aren't in tight corners. But still I believe that when you make someone else sad by doing something to the person you have indeed done something wrong.

Point of correction most popular people in the world today did not get there by building their careers and reputation on shady ethical practices like plagiarism and intellectual theft

For me,i stayed off this section because

1..Most people here like to show off and yet when you start engaging then on core programming skills,they chicken away by telling you google is your friend
2.Most times your question is being neglected.You ask question and you don't get any response for over 5 days
3.Most people here demand payment before assisting.No passion or zeal to help.
4.Youth this days prefer to talk and waste their energy on celebreties, gossips etc
5.NL mods do not help by pushing programming topics to the front page.When mods push at least two programming topics daily to the fp,it will attract the lazy youths.

As such, serious programmers or beginners are leaving for better forums around the world.Fact is if you ask a simple or a hard Java question in a Facebook Java group,you get a minimum of 30 responses who are willing to assist you.Also a serious person will rather go to YouTube to get content rather than coming here

The whole purpose of creating your account is stealing other peoples write ups and pasting them on nairaland and posing as the owner in order to seem like an expert and sell whatever it is you are marketing. And yes, if your thread is a dishonest one I think its only right the truth comes to light on it before any body falls victim.

The question is what are you doing to help salvage the problem (create a thread to discuss the problem? ) .... how many threads have each of you guys (that just commented above me) created that are educational, how many programming questions have you guys answered? (but on a side note some programming questions asked here are not detailed and seems confusing).

Someone above me just itemized the problems with no possible solution.

I hardly comment on threads here, because its like I have nothing to say...some threads on reddit are actually very interesting to read and comment on

my solution: nairaland owner should invite popular Tech CEOs for a "ask me anything" created thread to revive this section and to fuel the interest of the youths towards IT.
