Abaribe is one the few Senators in Nigeria, and perhaps the only Senator from the SE, who will see something bad and call it out. When Nnamdi Kanu needed bail, he stepped forward. Some stupid Nigerians castigated him for doing this but he told them the truth that there is no point leaving Kanu to die in prison from his health condition. When Kanu left the country and the authorities were looking for him, he said that he does not expect Kanu to wait to be killed by Nigerian Soldiers When IPOB was proscribed, he asked why an unarmed group like IPOB, who killed nobody, would be proscribed when there are are far more deadly and armed groups such as the killer herdsmen who had not been proscribed When the DSS invaded Abaribe's home on witch-hunt, he said this was because he is is an outspoken senator who criticized the present government Abaribe is one of the few politicians who stands by the truth even if doing so will cost him his head. |
