A High Court in Bwari, Abuja on Thursday threw out the case filed by Photographer, Busola Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).
This came after Fatoyinbo filed an objection and an affidavit at the Court reiterating that Busola’s statements were false and concocted to embarrass, scandalise and ridicule Fatoyinbo.

DSS Says Ready to Release Sowore to ‘Appropriate’ Persons

The Department of State Services (DSS) says it is prepared to release Mr. Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the planned RevolutionNow protest but waiting for appropriate persons to make his delivery.

Dr. Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the Service disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said appropriate persons were yet to turn up to take his delivery adding that he would be released once the processes were concluded
According to him, it is only appropriate that those who stood surety for him present themselves and have him released to them.

“While all those that have so far shown up are not directly concerned with the matter and therefore unqualified; many others have either chosen to grandstand or politicize it to achieve hidden interests.

Nigerian Armed Forces Shine at International Sports

The contingent of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have emerged victorious in the recent international sporting events in South Africa and Republic of Guinea.
The Acting Director of Defence Information, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Nwachukwu disclosed that the Nigerian military contingent emerged winners of the recently concluded Military Skills Competition in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

He added that they also clinched 3rd position at the maiden edition of the International Military Sports Council – West African Liaison Office (CISM – WALO) Boxing Championship held in Conakry, Guinea.

“In the Military Skills Competition held in South Africa, the AFN participants comprising male and female personnel from the Nigerian Army, Navy and the Airforce bagged a total of six Gold, four Silver, and one Bronze medals.

Sen. Olujimi Sworn into 9th Senate

The Senate on Thursday swore-in Sen. Biodun Olujimi as the Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
Olujimi, garbed in a coffee-brown attire, was sworn-in by the upper chamber, following an oath administered by the Clerk of Senate, Nelson Ayewoh, at exactly 10:40 immediately after the commencement of plenary.
