In his opening remarks, Prof. Elom welcomed all present at the event and thanked the ex-Corps member, Miss Chijioke, who served in Batch C of 2018/2019 NYSC programme, for remembering and appreciating her place of primary assignment by donation of a project of such magnitude. He also expressed profound gratitude to Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, on behalf of VC, Prof. Nwajiuba and University Management for supporting and providing the enabling environment that made it possible for the donor to achieve the feat, adding that anyone who study Agricultural Science and understand the practice has no business looking for white collar job but should be an employer of labour. He further stated that the University looks forward to having self-sufficient Agricultural Farm.

He further said the project helped tremendously during the recent accreditation exercise.

In her vote of thanks, Miss Chisom appreciated staff and students present at the event for coming, saying that she was inspired to carry out the project when she found out that the department used a Mobile Trampoline Pond, which could easily wear out with time, iterating that the Pitch Stone Pond would stand the taste of time. She further appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the University for giving her opportunity and privilege to serve in the University and for providing the enabling environment that made the project a dream come true.
