how? what has he done? with all the wahala of his appointment you will think by now 4 years later he will have many corrupt Nigerian officials behind bars. Who has he sent to jail besides small small, yahoo yahoo boys he has been arresting of late because his tenure is about to expire?

EFCC was set up to tackle corruption in Public office and high level financial crime, yahoo yahoo is the job of CID really.

EFCC has actually become a den of corruption because it has now become a way to extort money from people with business and contract disputes. if you know people who have had business disputes you know what I am talking about.

It's not a must for you to talk, but if you must, you talk intelligently. Is it the duty of Magu to send the those people to prison or the court? You are not a kid to know that judgments are given at the desecration of the courts and not that of Magu, EFCC or anybody for that matter.

[b]These governors and senators from the ruling APC and opposition PDP were said to be uncomfortable with the retention of Magu on the grounds that the anti-corruption czar would move against them once his confirmation process is concluded.

The senators were said to be apprehensive of Magu’s incorruptible stance on corruption matters. A governor, who spoke in confidence, said: “There is no doubt about it, the acting chairman of EFCC has done well, but the problem with Magu is that he does not appreciate that he is working in a political environment

They alleged that Magu “does not weigh political implications of some of the investigations being conducted by the EFCC.”

“But the President is taking his time on the matter. He is not unmindful of the stellar performance of the EFCC under the watch of Magu in terms of remarkable convictions and recoveries of stolen assets.

Likewise, well you also should talk intelligently and realize that if your investigations and evidence are defective and compromised, i.e do not follow due process, you diminish your chances of securing a conviction. When you are more interested in parading suspects in public and announcing arrests than proper investigation, you are likely not to have a good case in court to begin with, especially against enlightened people who have stolen huge sums and can afford competent lawyers.

If arrest is your metric of success, then anybody can be EFCC director because arresting is easy. There is no shortage of suspects in the Nigeria public service space. The proof of the pudding is conviction, that is the ultimate deterrent and while the courts play their part, there is no way a suspect will be convicted if the evidence or the process of gathering the evidence is flimsy or compromised by incompetence or playing to the gallery by EFCC.

You have not convicted anybody and you are now asking the UK to send Diezani to Nigeria? to the same Nigerian courts? Their motive isnt conviction because they know Diezani has a better chance of going to jail in the UK than Nigeria.

The reason why there has been a spate of arrest of yahoo boys of late is because they are easy targets and lo and behold Magu realises his term is up and he has nothing to show.

So please stop talking nonsense. Like I said I know of a particular pathetic case right now where a sub-contractor used EFCC to harrass a contractor who legitimately couldnt pay him because the govt agency that awarded the contract hasnt paid the contractor. They arrested the contractor at the behest of the subcontractor (who likely paid EFCC for the service) and collected money from him after spending 2 nights in EFCC cell for doing nothing illegitimate, made him write an undertaking under duress and then told him to go and settle his supplier. This is what EFCC has become in reality under Magu..that and chasing small time yahoo boys!!!

How has magu performed well? Police still collect bribe openly, immigration officers collect bribe openly, civil servants loot with reckless abandon. Was efcc created for yahoo boys alone?

The day efcc will start arresting policemen on the highway for collecting bribe then I’ll know they are working. I know Nigerian law can not jail any politician both in apc and in opposition.

Does Buhari know of this law? "Sections 2 and 3 of the EFCC
(Establishment Act) 2004 on the
composition of EFCC and appointment of chairman read in part: 2: (l) The Commission shall have a chairman who shall be the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Commission, who should be a serving or retired
member of any government security or law enforcement agency not below the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police
or equivalent, among other conditions."
