Bruv, seriously? Show some deference to logic for God sake. Why did Ojukwu not release Awolowo during the months he was Governor of the Eastern region when he could have gotten the approval of the Head of State he would surely need for such a release? Yet we are to believe he chose to do so after the Government he served had been toppled with Ojukwu's Head of State and commander dead and replaced by Gowon who was already sworn in as Head of State of Nigeria a few days before Awolowo was released? Who does that make any sense to?

Even indulging your delusions, is it not clear to you that arguing Ojukwu released Awolowo after Gowon became Head of State, when he had not sought to do this previously, can only be interpreted an act of cowardly panic? What was Ojukwu's profit in releasing Awolowo at that time of all the times he could have done so? Just name one. I think, in the end, critical thinker would agree it made no sense to assume Ojukwu had anything to do with the release of Awolowo. He had no ideological gain doing so and had no real power to do so at that very uncertain time when a new Government had just overthrown the one he served. Ojukwu was only Governor of a region that was not even autonomous from Nigeria under Aguiyi-Ironsi and you Igbos would do well to remember that and stop talking as if Ojukwu was President of an East that did not answer to Nigeria.

After all, we all saw what happened when Ojukwu went on to declare Biafra with the foolish assumption the East was not part of Nigeria and could secede at will.
