While the top 3 are great contenders for the honour, why always attackers and midfielders that get the honour most times? Because of goals and assists? Trophies? Okay, while that is good, how about the defenders (Canavaro in 2006)? The goalies?
The basis of major considerations for the honour is biased towards wings played by the player.
