Dear World Bank, past Nigeria's Presidents including IBB, Obasanjo, Goatluck who followed your evil directives to the letter, what was the outcome? Was it not tears, sorrows and suffering? Your polices are strategically planned to put Africa in perpetual slavery.

It seems that you people in World Bank are even suffering from amnesia, if not, you will remember that Buhari did not listen to your evil advice when he was Head of State in 1984, that was why you Europe and US instigated his overthrow. Buhari does nor forget, he won't listen to your evil advice this time either.

The above is why Buhari has been doing all his government business transactions with China, India and Russia and not with you evil Europe and US. You EU and US give fake loans to Africa and also help evil Africa politicians to keep over 90% of these fake loans in your banks when the politicians steal the money. China does not give loans in cash, instead China will build the infrastructure with and for Africans. No single kobo or dollar will touch the hands of the politicians.

China's policy of not giving cash but building infrastructure. with Africa is why the Kaduna-Abuja Railway has been completed, the Ajaokuta-Itakpe-Warri Railway has be completed, the Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan Railway is almost completed, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is almost completed, the Oyo-Ogbomosi Expressway is almost completed. What did Africa and Nigeria do with all the loans and advice that World Bank has been giving since time immemorial? The money is in banks in EU and US stolen by Africa's politicians.

Therefore, World Bank, EU, US, please shut the fucvk up. Buhari no send una. He is doing business with China, India and Russia.

We have mentally lazy leaders who only grab power to just play politics and oppress opposition.

For the past 5 years of APC leadership, there has been less than 1million real jobs created.
Before you ask them now they will rush and tell you that ibo doesn't know politics
They are busy playing politics of poverty that keeps majority of their people in poverty
If you see how ofe mmanu people gnash their teeth while trying to buy stuff from my shop I begin to wonder
Most of those my customers can no longer afford the drugs they used to buy even simple daily groceries like body cream is now a luxury for them.
We IBOS will always wait for you in the shop, all the money your clueless government added while creating a difficult business environment for us will get back at you, life doesn't waste time to balance things, because everything will be factored into the price since profit is the aim

While Buhari and his gang by excess borrowing without positive impact on our economy and no viable capital project, some online LAZY youths blows the trumpet of a failed government. The world bank will not split skulls open to explain line by line like a kindergatten class. There is an assumption they are dealing with or talking to learned people in field of economics and finance. However some of the solutions proffered are below, now left for your policy makers to drive it.

"The World Bank urged President Muhammadu Buhari to increase domestic revenue , remove trade restrictions and improve the predictability of economic policy .
It also advised the Nigerian government to remove expensive fuel subsidies and reduce lending to targeted sectors “ that crowd out banks .”

If you dont see a single solution in what was mentioned here, there is no need for us to argue. The points are unequivocal and if you are looking for a grammar debate,I am not up for that.

Go and bring you father with the intellectual capacity and unlimited education to come and run Nigeria. But first, has he headed a Committee in your Church before or headed your Community Development Association? List your father's education, experience and life achievement, let's all assess him, we may just use him to replace Buhari.

Excellent

1. Increase domestic revenue . Please explain how that will remove poverty
2. Remove trade restrictions . Is there any examole of any country that has reduced poverty by doing this?
Is there any country without trade restrictions. How unrestricted is trade with the US, the EU etc
3. Predictability of Economic policy . Exactly what does this mean? How predictable is economic policy in the US ,Britain etc

I agree 100% with the removal of fuel subsidy but not BECAUSE it will "reduce poverty" . It certainly will NOT do that
Reduce lending to targeted sectors that crowd out the banks

Is there any country in the G7 (wealthiest countries) or China etc that do not lend to targeted sectors? We are asked to "reduce" from what to what what is the recommended level

What are the sectors we are talking about, I believe agriculture is one of them. and the greatest beneficiary So we should stop that?
HOW will that REDUCE poverty??

HOW does government activity "CROWD OUT " banks how do we measure and determine that banks are crowded out

In the US and the EU government lends to banks at 0% or LESS ( yes Less that is not a typo) and in Nigeria lending is 20% or more.

The reality is none, again NONE of the World Bank's recommendations will reduce poverty.

There is no mention of investment in education, training and entrepreneurship or health. No advice on how to develop our power generation or transmission.
No advise on how we can reduce gas flaring or increase our utilization of gas instead of firewood rather some meaningless and patronizing twaddle that they do not practice in their own countries.

You know all these and you are not the MD of world bank. Obviously you are not an economist or at best a pseudo one. The Language of economic institutions are esoteric just like the law profession. There isn't much time to be engaging you on item by item because of typing constraints.

1.They know you know how best to raise your revenue.Just do it whatever way you like be it taxation or devaluation so Govt can have more money to spend to stimulate the economy. How do you think Govt in US and UK raise money.

2.China,India,Singapore,Indonesia are examples

3.Just what predictability means.Be consistent in your policies and no flip flops.

FYI what you just read in that news item is a summary or an excerpt of a detailed report. The detailed report which they release periodically are quite lengthy and cover all those bases where the answers to your questions can be inferred. You can always access it if you are interested and you have the time.

I absolutely agree with you.I am not smart and knowledgeable if that makes you feel better.

Reform gini? You are talking to backward people still searching for oil in this day and age.

The economic storm coming for this nation soon will enter global history books.

Rapid population growth with dwindling oil revenue and a 1% GDP growth from a developing economy.

This is beyond abomination.
Sounds Scary!

China's policy is why our debt has shot up to nearly $90 billion. Nigerian contractors should be able to build a simple university , I have seen the design of private owned universities, built by local contractors and they are much better and cheaper than made in China university.

Like I said you do not know and you do not know that you do not know
China and India are examples of countries that removed poverty by easing trade restrictions
FYI India was granted exemptions for decades from WTO rules and has much more restrictions on trade than Nigeria which has been a dumping ground for decades
Your comment on China easing trade restrictions is indeed a BAD joke. Why is China embroiled in a trade war with the US
It is better for a person suspected of being foolish to remain silent rather than speak and confirm the suspicion,

The World Bank has not advocated any of the things that would address poverty in Nigeria
Investment in education and training
Building human capital
Investing in power
Investing in water and sanitation
Boosting local consumption of gas

Instead it is advocating stopping agricultural subsidies

China which you cite as a bastion of free trade was ruled against in March by the WTO because of agricultural subsidies

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/03/04/wto-just-ruled-against-chinas-agricultural-subsidies-will-this-translate-big-us-win/

The rich countries subsidize their agriculture and that is fine but we are "advised" to stop that as a way of reducing poverty and clowns like you echo that nonsense as if it was written among the Ten Commandments

I've been seeing your 'ad' on NL lately.
You're likely advertising to people who don't need or want your product.

MY ADVICE ON SALES STRATEGY:
1. Come up with a simple but neatly designed, brochure with nice copywriting pitching your products, with nice price tags on your products, printed on quality paper materials.
2. Collate as much contact as you can in the Procurement Department of as much organisations you can. (Don't restrict yourself to the Procurement Department alone in some cases)
3. Send your brochure tagged with your business card by direct mailing to the Procurement Department of those organisations (along with a gift token e.g. Branded flash drives, branded key holders, etc).

I think I've tried.

It is funny the World Bank is singing this song of removing trade restrictions in 2019

In 1898 the UK attacked China because of that same issue because the Chinese refused to allow them to sell opium to its people.
The result the Chinese were forced to cede Hong Kong to Britain for 99 years

In 1860 the British Annexed Lagos Islan because of "Trade restrictions"

It was this same TRADE RESTRICTIONS that led to

The removal and exile of Jaja of Opobo
The arrack on and destruction of Benin in 1897

The annexation of Nigeria by Royal Niger Company and subsequent colonization

That same rhetoric has been swallowed as gospel by some nitwits with no capacity for independent thought

Now the British do not need the Royal Niger Company to do their dirty work for them because they have these Nigerians on ground to proseletize for them
