At one point in time, you will need to buy a farmland for various reasons. However so many people have got their fingers burnt trying to buy farmland in Nigeria. With the high rate of fraud it it always advisable to thread with caution. Buying a genuine farmland is easy if you by from a trusted source. You would also need to answers some vital questions before you make your first purchase. Here are four important questions to consider;
1. How much land do you need?
One of the first things to consider is how many acres of land you desire to have. Knowing how much land you need can help you plan out your budget and in which areas to buy.
2. What would you do with your farmland?
It is important you have a well thought out plan on what you really want to do with the farmland. Consider going into crop production, livestock production, or you may want to buy now at a cheap rate and resell later.
3. Where would its location be?
Location is very important when deciding to buy a farmland. Farmlands that are far from the city centre and have no accessible roads are very cheap while land that are close to landmarks and access road may be a bit expensive but the worth it.
4. How are you going to pay for the farmland?
It is important you know whether you will be paying the farmland cost upfront or in installments. Whatever your option discuss with your farm vendor.
5. Do you have the right document?
Getting a farmland is one thing, getting the right documentation is another. Many fraudsters have sold farmlands to innocent Nigerians without proper or false documentations.
