The Governor of ‘Ebonyi State Engr David Umahi has been voted for the ‘2019 Human Rights Awards’

The Award which is slated to be conferred on Governor Umahi on Sunday 8th December, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja is based on popular vote.

In a Statement by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr Uchenna Orji, the Human Rights Commission, National Headquarters, had made and conveyed its decision to Governor Umahi based on the result.

He disclosed that the Commission had indicated that Nigerian populace, through social media e-voting, practically spoke in favour of Ebonyi State Government for the prestigious ‘2019 Human Rights Award’ in the category of State Governments in Nigeria for contributions in Infrastructure for development of a culture of respect for human rights.
Mr Orji maintained that it was time for the people of the State to celebrate their son, Engr David Umahi, who according to him was a product of God’s Kindness to the state.
Governor Umahi had just recently been awarded the best governor in the country, by the Business Day Media.
