9th of December every year is ear marked to celebrate a distinguish leader and former governor of Akwa ibom state His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio for his numerous developmental strides and positive contributions to the good people of Akwa ibom state and Nigeria at large.

The Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio turns 57 today, lovers of good governance have rolled out drums to pour encomiums on a remarkable leader through various platforms such as the Radio, television, facebook, whatsapp, twitter.


As part of the celebration today, a non governmental organisation JOELİTİC/BİG CORAZON charity through the founder a USA based philanthropist Engr Joseph Akpan, donated thousands of Exercise books to Public schools in İkot ekpene, essien Udim and Etim Ekpo Local government Areas to celebrate the 57th birth anniversary of the distingushed leader.

The non governmental organisation took a tour to five schools within the three local government areas namely
~ The state college secondary school İkot Ekpene
~ İndependent High School Ukana
~ Government Primary School Ukana west
~ Methodist Primary School Ukana where his excellency the distinguised senator had his primary Education.
~ Four towns School, Uruk/ Ikot Obo, Etim Ekpo.

As part of the celebration tour, the team used the opportunity to educate and enlighten the students on the need to take their education seriously, pay attention in class, abstain from cultism, shun violence, be obedient to their parents and to the teachers in School, shun examination malpractice and be honest at all time so they can have a better future. The group further reminded the children that Senator Akpabio was once like them, attended a government School and came out successfully because he was serious about what he wanted to achieve in life.

After the donation of the exercise books, the students sang birthday songs and praised the Distinguished Senator and the leadership of the NGO for the donation given to them and Prayed to God to continually bless him, accelerate him to greater heights and sustain him so that he will continue to do more for the people of the state.

The Principal and members of staff of the various Schools also took turns to appreciate the Honourable minister, the leadership and members of the Joelitic/Big Corazon Charity foundation for selecting their school to be part of the kind gesture and prayed that God will continue to bless the minister and members of the Foundation for bringing the celebration to their domain.
