I, living in dark ages
Born in 21st but appear in 18th century

Please never lie
What am I?
A monkey?
I have a monkey look?

Day by day, stigma goes with me
Time to time, solemn I weep
I, with uncivilized emblem
I, a career of dark ages

Why cutting my face?
Why wicked thou art?
Why making me old?
Why giving me eternal sorrow?

I came freshly made
Glowing, smooth; my face
No limitation nor stigma
But all a lamentation history

Do not seal my mouth
Let me talk ill of the wicked
The organizers of shame
Their brutality I berate

Many doors of opportunities close
Many ladders of success shorten
Many this, many that unfulfilled
Many nights of depression emerge

Among fellow color, I am a leper
The other colours detest me
Those that love hates my stigma
I hate it myself

Cultural scarification is bad
Its consequence is devastating
It works with limitations, ridicule
It is the real bane.
