There is a very strong connection between royalty and Rolls Royce brand. This is why many prominent Nigerian traditional rulers have become accustomed to having at least one in their illustrious garage. Such is the case with the present Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi, who was once the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria. After the death of Ado Bayero, his grand-uncle, he was installed on 8th of June, 2014 as the 14th Emir of Kano.

The 58-year-old Sanusi Lamido was a very successful banker who wouldn’t mind the luxury of being chauffeured around town in an expensive Rolls Royce car. If you are lucky enough to witness Emir of Kano garage in real life, these are some of the Rolls Royce models you will find there:

1952 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith
This model was originally owned by Nubar Gulbenkian, an Armenian-British billionaire before it was acquired by Abdullahi Bayero, after which it was handed down to the grandfather of the current Emir, Alhaji Mohammed Sanusi I.

It comes finished in a colour associated with Nigeria, and a custom-plate signifying the royal presence of Emir of Kano.

Rolls Royce Phantom VI
This particular model of Rolls Royce was produced from the periods of 1968 to 1990. The Phantom V-inspired model looks like a car bodied as landaulets and limousines.

Rolls-Royce Phantom VII
The present Emir of Kano acquired this top-range model in 2016. His Rolls Royce Phantom VII has a custom plate number ‘MS-1’, which is a way of signifying Muhammadu Sanusi 1.

Rolls Royce Ghost
This N70+ million Rolls Royce Ghost is one of the most recently acquired cars you will see in the current Emir’s car collection. It's a dream of many rich and famous individuals in the country, let alone average residents.

The Emir recently revealed that the 2 luxury cars, which are designed for him to be chauffeured around in, were gifts he got from his friends, Bola Shagaya and Kola Kareem. He made this revelation amidst speculation surrounding his ostentatious lifestyles.
