NIGER STATE COMMISSIONER FOR TRADE, COMMERCE AND INVESTMENT, DR. MUSTAPHA JIBRIL MEETS INVESTORS ON SHEA-NUT AND RENEWABLE ENERGY IN DUBAI[center][/center]

Considering the dwindling price of oil and the APC led administration resolve of economic diversification, attracting Investors from the private sector to compliment the government's funding of the economy has become necessary.

In his unrelenting bid to shore up investment for Niger State, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello met with international investors to fashion out modalities of investing in the state’s economy.

This is coming after the state participation at the Invest-in-Nigeria Roundtable organised by Commodities Development Initiative, CDI with the aim to attract investors into Nigeria but in particular into Niger State.

The investors are ;- a) ENKAY INDO-NIG LTD, an Indian/Nigerian company has expressed interest in establishing a Shea & Agric processing plant in Niger State (the company already has a processing refineries in Kano & Shagamu). b) MADADGAAR Ltd is a Pakistani/UAE based company that has expressed interest for a JVC project with the state. They require land to grow crops for production of edible oil using soya beans, sunflower and cotton seed.

c) PROMAX INVESTMENT is based in Abu Dhabi with operations in Europe, and are ready to explore PPP or BOT opportunities in light rail, renewable energy, water and other infrastructural development with NGSG.

A delegation led by @drmmjibril Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Asabe Ahmed, Chairperson of the state investment advisory committee and Mr. Hamza Bello, CEO of the Niger State Investment Promotion Agency, Alhaji Muhammad Ahmad Kontagora, a private consultant all participated in the mission.

Overall, the Commissioner disclosed that, the outing was a successful one as the investors have shown commitment towards actualizing the Governor Sani Bello's turning Niger State into the hub of investment in Nigeria.

The mission was held at the time of the global business forum Africa, the premiere business gathering of global investors interested in Africa organised by the Dubai Chamber of commerce in Dubai.
