Mary Chiwenga, the wife of Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, has been charged in Harare court for the attempted murder of her husband. Mary, a former beauty queen and model, was initially arrested on Saturday by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC) for alleged $1million fraud. Also, she is battling with a $700 000 lawsuit, instituted by her ex-husband, a former footballer, Shingi Kawondera for forging his signature on the divorce consent papers. Arraigned today (Monday), her case took another turn after the Vice President who had suspected her for poisoning him, which led to long medical care in South Africa and China, made startling complaints in court documents today, that she actually tried to kill him while in hospital.
