Help!!! My Toyota Camry 2004 4 Cylinder 2.4L Not Accelerating. by Mmgboji(m): 7:09pm On Dec 17, 2019
Hello Car gurus,
My car as described above suddenly refused to accelerate. I ran a scan immediately and got P0121(throttle/pedal position sensor related) as the error code. The technician has replaced the throttle position sensor with same part number as mine, replaced the throttle body, checked the wirings and even tried out a new ECU same as mine, yet the car is still not accelerating beyond 1200Rpm. The code has been cleared repeatedly but still comes back almost immediately.

Brethren, am in total confusion at the moment. Any suggestions on what the issue might be?

Thank you all in advance for your contributions.

read this carefully. Go back to your old throttle pedal and fix it.

I have duly followed the action in both the video and your suggestion yet no success. Although their is a 10mm bolt and nut under my Pedal assembly as against an empty hole in the Pic. I replaced that screw and tried to replaced it with a slippers nut as shown in your illustration. Yet no success.

All of that plus foreign substances in the cylinder block e.g coolant water or oil.....as a result bad head gasket.

I say that because I just had an experience or could other things like misfire, bad plugs or fuel delivery issue...

Kareem is waiting but you need to someone to look at it.

Thank you all for your response and suggestions. The issue has eventually been resolved. The problem was the throttle body. My Kazeem insisted I replace the throttle body again. I did, albeit reluctantly and Boom!!! Car accelerates like normal. Code disappeared. And has not returned and this is the 3rd day of serious driving.
Thank you all for your kind suggestions. God bless you.
