Olorogun (Barr.) Kenneth O. Gbagi has received blessings from the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU led by Olorogun Moses Taiga to go ahead with his 2023 gubernatorial ambition to succeed Senator Ifeanyi Okowa after expiration of his second tenure as Governor of Delta state.

Gbagi received the nod to contest for governorship in 2023 when he led members of the Gbagi Solidarity Movement to consult the UPU executives at the country home of the President General in Okpare-Olomu, Ughelli South.

In his remarks, Kenneth Gbagi mentioned that he officially came to inform Urhobo brothers and sisters of his intentions after he had done same to Urhobos that are in Delta North and Delta South.

He went further to shower encomiums on the UPU, stating that Olorogun Taiga is reputable with people with good characters and enjoined them to rally round him who has strong character without blemish to continue the developmental strides of the state from where his friend and brother, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Executive Governor of Delta State would stop by 2023.

The President-General of UPU Worldwide, Olorogun Moses Taiga also described Olorogun Gbagi as a good man and encouraged him to do more.

He said, "Olorogun Gbagi is a good man and when you see a good man like Gbagi, you encourage him to do more and let me tell you, this present UPU Executives are people with good characters, people who know themselves, people with proven integrities who will not compromised the interest of Urhobo for money".

“I have given the go ahead to Olorogun Gbagi to consult for his' 2023 governorship ambition", saying when the time comes, "I will call the entire Urhobo people where we will pray and give him the mantle of the governorship of the 2023".
