Abuja, Nigeria. The Senate on Wednesday, December has18 has confirmed Muhammad Mamman Nami as the new Executive Chariman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. The confirmation came in a week after a committee had been set up to screen and present a report based on the President’s recommendation. President Muhammadu Buhari had on Monday last week, named the tax consultant as the new chairman of the FIRS. Nami’s confirmation sees him take over from Mr. Babatunde Fowler whose tenure expired last week. FIRS announced the development via a tweet which read: “The Senate, sitting in the committee of the whole, a few minutes ago, confirmed the appointment of Muhammadu Mamman Nami as the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS”.
