Any government action or policy in Nigeria is designed to make the rich richer and the poor poorer....

There should. Securing ATMs, maintaining it, stocking it with cash... All these costs money and personnel. Banks can't be footing that bill for another banks customers. Hope now you see why it can't be free.

50naira monthly ATM maintainance charge is the biggest legalized daylight robbery in Nigeria today.
After paying 1050naira to purchase the card, we are still forced to pay 50naira monthly for three years of ownership.
I beg, who is maintaining the ATM card ?
The bank or the card-owner who keeps the card ?

The next directives is CARD MAINTENANCE FEES after charging for the card what are the banks maintaining. It is reminiscent of meter maintenance charges by PHCN, before it was scrapped

Have you used their MasterCard or Visa for international payment? I'm curious as to their exchange rate.

Close. But you are right.

Anyone who’s worked within policymaking circles will tell you that this “slash” was pre-planned.

They would have planned for N25, but announced N65. When people complain, they’ll take it down to N35. Then you’ll hear an announcement that “Major General Buhari orders the CBN to review the increase to N25”. Then they’ll implement the originally planned N25, winning political capital for the regime.

Glad to see that many Nigerians understand this fact of policy-making. Pretty normal.
