Sanusi personality does not fit the traditional office he occupies. He shouldn't have ventured into that role. Even if a new governor comes in, he is likely still going to have the same problem. A traditional ruler is expected to be docile and dance to the tune of the political governor, he can't be a vocal critic like Sanusi. You can't bite the finger that feeds you. It won't work. The constitution places the traditional stool under the governor.

Yaradua appointed Sanusi not GEJ.

Sanusi didn't accuse GEJ of stealing but some actors in GEJ's govt around fuel subsidy and non-remittance of funds by NNPC which Finance & Petroleum ministers also had a clash about. Sanusi also complained about National Assembly budget and spending which made Omisore-led Appropriation Committee tried harassing him about, which made a sitting Finance Minister Aganga shake but Sanusi was unflinchingly resolute.

GEJ couldn't have jailed him but removed him unconstitutionally few months to the end of his 5years tenure as CBN governor and brought in Emefiele.

Sanusi spoke out about a new set of overnight billionaires enjoying govt patronage from dollars racketeering just like fuel subsidy not particularly Aisha or Garba Shehu.

Hate or like Sanusi, he is one privilegde and courageous fellow never afraid to speak out no matter the consequence.

Sanusi sanitized the banking sub-sector (nay financial sector) going against the rogue bankers and securing conviction (some cases still in court).

He enforced good corporate governance and succession plan fixing a maximum of 10years for all directors including MD (if not the likes of Atedo Peterside, Ovia, Elumelu, Aig etc would still be bank MDs and perhaps we won't ever hear of Sola David-Borha, Emefiele, Ozolua, Wigwe etc).
