2019 CAF Awards: Full list of final three contenders The Confederation of African Football released the final three contenders for the 2019 CAF awards on Sunday for the 28th edition of its yearly football awards. The highlight of the event heads with Liverpool's Sadio Mane (Senegal) and Mohammed Salah (Egypt) with AFCON 2019 winner Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City & Algeria), battling for the African Player of the Year. Nigeria youngster duo Samuel Chukwueze (Villareal FC) and Victor Osimhen (Lille FC) made the list of African Youth Player of the Year with Achraf Hakimi (Morocco & Borussia Dortmund). Thomas Dennerby, former Super Falcons coach made the cut for the African Women's Coach of the Year competing against Desiree Ellis (South Africa) and Alain Djeumfa (Cameroon). Nigeria, South Africa and Cameroon made it to the African Women National Team of the Year. Nigerian attacker Asisat Oshoala leads the shortlist of African Women's Player of the Year along side Ajara Nchout (Cameroon) and Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa).
