Celebration of Christmas is not complete for some people without throwing fireworks aka knockout.
It is a normal thing among children and youths to spend some amount of money on purchase of it. To them, it’s their own way of celebrating the yuletide. But the police has also warned people on the negative sides of throwing fireworks.
Their reasons are that armed rubbers can leverage on it to attack innocent people. Secondly, it is Harmattan and fire incident is common. An incident happened on Christmas day in M.R.O in Iyiowa Odekpe along Atani road Onitsha, Anambra State.

One of the fireworks which some youths were throwing randomly landed in M.R.O, one of the biggest bar in Iyiowa and set the whole place on fire.

Major parts of the building got burnt. Thanks to the quick intervention of the men of Anambra Fire Service and The Red Cross Society Of Nigeria who put off the ravaging fire and saved further destruction of properties. No life was lost.
