Regardless of the charges, the Kaduna State Government are trampling on his rights. Their governor is a stubborn man.

This is a blatant lie. Was his arrest on the order of Kaduna State Government in the first place?

Thought it was Buratai that killed thousands of his followers in cold blood and punctured one of his eyes, with the full knowledge of Buhari.

At a point in time Lai Mohammed was the one defending the continued detention of the man, even saying the FG spends huge amount daily im taking care of him.

The answer is quite simple, actually.

In Nigeria today we do not have state jails, state police forces, state intelligence agencies or a state prison service. They all belong to the Federal Government. So, suspects that are being tried by state governments are detained in federal prisons or in other federal government owned facilities.

So, for example, Hamza Al-Mustapha was prosecuted by the Lagos State Government, but he was detained at Kirikiri Prison, which is owned by the Federal Government and at the Directorate of Military Intelligence, which is also owned by the Federal Government, while he was on trial.

Agba Jalingo is currently being prosecuted by the Cross River State Government, but he is being detained at a federal facility.


So the answer to your question is that El Zakzaky is being detained at a DSS facility on the orders of a Kaduna State High Court.

That's the thing. The Kaduna State High Court rejected his application for bail 3 times. They eventually granted him bail to travel to India for medical treatment, but he didn't like it in India so he returned to Nigeria.

Kaduna court refuses El Zakzaky bail

A Kaduna State High Court on Wednesday denied the Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria otherwise known as ‘Shiites’, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, bail.

The court refused the Shiites’ leader bail on the grounds that he did not attach a medical report to his bail application.

The court was presided over by Mr. Justice Gideon Kurada.

The IMN leader and his wife would remain in the custody of the Department of State Security until January 22, 2019.

Security was tight within and outside the court located along the Ibrahim Taiwo road in the metropolis.

Actually, you are wrong. The Kaduna State High Court rejected his bail applications 3 times. They finally granted him bail on medical reasons and the bail was for him to be able to travel to India for treatment. The Kaduna State Government allowed him to travel to India, but he didn't like it there, so he returned to Nigeria.
