Why do we make things complicated in Africa...a simple overhead bridge would do this and divert traffic's

Now instead of the over head brigdes we use round abouts here to connect cross roads...so am actually wondering why take it off??

The solution to those traffic gridlocks are not removal of round about but flyover bridges especially in Allen and Ajah Epe 2nd roundabout. Take abule egba, Songo, Ajah fly over bridges and ongoing agege bridge for instance.

Permanent n concrate solution will play a vital roll in addressing traffic issues in any of the locations.

Lagos always coming up with programmes that affect our business even though we are responsible for its development. We also own about 95% of the landed properties but they won't just let us be because of hate.

We still remain the most successful tribe in the world, so they can go to blazes.

Is your business hawking in the traffic?

Actually the reality is the opposite, if you may. ‘Roundabouts’ or Traffic circles are guided by a simple rule- yield to traffic on the left. During rush hour traffic, that may mean a standstill for vehicles behind those yielding. Perhaps traffic lights would be best, you could also consider the option of a 4-way/ 3-way Stop sign depending on type of intersection.

Roundabout controls traffic but because we don't have traffic laws that why it is not working simple.

Round about slows traffic anywhere in the world.

It is only good for remote areas where there is very very minimal traffic.

The way Nigerian roads are constructed is part of what leads to traffic most times.

There has to be dedicated turning lanes on both the right and left of every intersection.

Tben there has to be neutral lanes in the middle of roads very road where you can safely stay in before you make a turn to the right or left of adjoining streets.

This is the way the roads in USA are and its very very effective

@Simplyleo,how low have you sunk in your one-sided,prejudiced rant! How did you lot develop Lagos? Lagos had already become a commercial hub for the West African region by 1861 when it became a British colony.Whereas your forebears were foraging the thick forests of the East for food.
What you're banging on as development is no more than commercial vacuity- just buying and selling. Did you bring technology transfer to Lagos? If anything ,Lagos served as a place of refuge for your people.Think before you make your imbecilic judgements about Lagos.

savage sarcasm.
U were referring to the hawkers at the roundabout.
Well, truth be told those guys really contribute to traffic problems at times. U have to avoid hitting them so as not to have blood on ur hands.

But stop the subtle shading of Igbos. U shud be above such pettiness

Lagos should find a way to stop the troops of illiterate hausas and Nigér people who troop into the state and are ready to sleep anywhere in the name of their hustle. Also something has to be done about those Ebonyi people selling gala, rat poison and fake products. Complete nuisances

Which one is Ebonyi people selling gala...?

You should also penalise officers at traffic light where the orange light is faulty.
Imagine they remove the orange light intentionally just and set time between the green and red to be less than 10 seconds,so they can jump in ur car to arrest you.
Just imagine officers that are meant to control traffic causing confusion

Roundabouts are NOT the problem of Lagos roads, but sheer bad driving skills on the part of drivers, and poor adherence to traffic regulations! Period! angry

Removal of roundabouts will NOT end Lagos traffic, if drivers refuse to follow the highway code, if hawkers keep trading along the major highways and round abouts, and if danfos keep dropping and picking up passengers anyhow along the roads. sad

Removal of roundabouts is just a cosmetic solution! Treat the cause, not the symptoms!! shocked

Thank you!! shocked Drivers refuse to give way to traffic on the left. They approach intersections and round abouts anyhow, and drag space with those on the right lanes.

You even see someone driving on the inner lane of the roundabout, yet he is actually planning to go right and follow the major road. sad

Instead of staying on the outer lane of the roundabout, right from the beginning, he gets into the inner lane, then makes a mad dash at the last minute, blocking cars coming behind him in his bid to link the outer lane, at the very last minute! Sheer madness! shocked
