Well, I don't think this should be.

It would have been more appropriate if the policy places emphasis on foreign trips by ministers only when it is very necessary. Otherwise, it should be at the expense of the traveller and no allowances (estacode) for such.

But placing a ceiling at the official number of foreign trips by public office holders doesn't seem to make sense.

It is possible a minister need not travel offially in a year, conversely, a minister may also need to go out of the country more than 10 times in a year. It all depends on necessity.

So you dey query your Oga?

Just like in the mafian family

MetaPhysical:
Just thinking out loud here...

If Ministers must first talk to Abba Kyari who would now review when they can have access to the President General, in the other direction when President General needs to give instruction command does he give to Abba Kyari to transmit or does he summon the Minister? grin

We will always thank the ALMIGHTY GOD for giving us this great man.
Rather late than never.
Sane, honest and hard working Nigerians will forever be greatful to God for making this honest man of integrity our President, especially when our country was seriously raped from the left, right and center by rogues and criminals.

Nigeria will be great in our lifetime and those who are out there praying for unrest, bomb and wars will not be here to witness the good times coming.
No be curse,
Na FACT!

God bless Nigeria.

In all honesty - this is nonsense. The President is the number one violator of this directive. It is doesn't make much sense, some portfolio requires regular travels to engage with foreign interest e.g. Foreign Affair Ministry and Trade Ministry, etc. I know the issue is to curb abuses. However, restricting the movement of Ministers is unnecessary and this exposes how dumb the President and his aides are. There are several ways to address this such as restrict funds allocated for international travels.

In fact, the President should develop performance metrics for his ministers to assess their performance level and ensure there are delivering on electoral promises and mandates. The President should stop acting like the Senior prefect of Nigeria. There are more pertinent issues than ministerial travels. He should do his job!!!

Re: FG Places Travel Restrictions On Ministers, Others by Beautyaddy: 6:24pm On Dec 30, 2019
What a Very Fake Restriction.

Why do all those Nigerian Ministers needs Eight Travel Out of the Country limits. It should be way less than Eight.

Doesn't that tell us that most of those Minsters were elected to practically do nothing in office but to spend all those thousands in Naira Salaries to travel all over the World for Vacation.

My friend. I am sure you know what debt servicing & its negative implications on the innocent citizens are?
1. Our current debt profile is $81.274 billion! (Usd 81, 274, 000, 000) As against $17bn, Jonathan left it.

2. Debt Servicing Implications on Innocent Citizens:
a. Embargo will perpetually be enforced on employment
b. Social infrastructures would be reduced to 4.5% out of 100%!
c. Clause B meant capital projects would be REDUCED by 93.5%, this year
d. You, your friends, fresh graduates won't get any good job!
e. Food availabilty will be low. Same as security.
f. The international monetary lending institutions (IMF, World Bank, Paris Club) INSTRUCT F.G to service the debt at 50% of 2020 budget. That is
the reason OBASANJO addressed BUHARI, 3 DAYS AGO!
g. Imagine your father gave you tuiton fee & collected HALF OF IT BACK FROM YOU! How will you survive at school
h. Lai Mohammed announced Ministers' foreign trips, now reduced to 8 times per year because the REALITY STARES AT THEM NOW!
i. No one talks Buhari or PDP. Our concern is absence of COMMONSENSE in this government!
j. Babangida's S.A.P policy killed naira. Killed education. Made generations of Nigerians, useless and wasted.
k. This new DEBT PROFILE will destroy millennia & generation x' destinies.
l. If your are financially all right, remember! some your family members & friends won't escape the BURDEN of such debt.
Think my brother. It is wrong for innocent Nigerians to pay the burdened price of Buhari's reckless government.
The BIGGEST SCAM & FRAUD IN NIGERIA'S HISTORY HAPPEN UNDER THIS ADMINISTRATION OF BUHARI.
