More than 4,000 people trapped on a beach are ordered to shelter in the ocean as bushfires close in and turn the sky red after blazes destroy 'multiple' homes and leave many people missing. About 100,000 people were urged to flee five Melbourne suburbs on Monday evening. In the worst-affected state, New South Wales, fires have burned more than 4 million hectares (9.9m acres) destroying more than 900 houses. Nukilia: why do you think most fire reports include wind speed? wind can easily disperse the embers and burning or smoking material from the fire, that's how one fire can become 10 different fires in a short time 50 meters or 100 meters may not make much difference depending on the intensity of the fire, humidity conditions and wind speed 5 Likes 1 Share |
