Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, has risen to the list of billionaires and is the 96th richest man in the world with an estimated cost of $ 14.8 billion.

Before the last ranking was published, the President of the Dangote Group took 103rd place.

The business mogul, who remains the richest man in Africa for eight years, was the only Nigerian on the list of the 100 best billionaires, as Bloomberg published in its annual billionaires list last week.
Jeff Bezos is still the richest in the world, valued at $ 115 billion. Bill Gates and Bernard Arnault ranked second and third at $ 11.3 billion and $ 105 billion, respectively. Warren Buffett was fourth on the world billionaire chart at $ 89.3 billion.

The estimated value of Dangote in the last Bloomberg surpassed an earlier rank in Forbes Magazine, another elite publication that estimated its net worth at $ 10.8 billion in the Forbes Africa Billionaires list released in January, 2019.

He remained the richest African for eight consecutive years.
Bloomberg is a global information and technology company that connects decision makers with a dynamic network of data, people and ideas - "Precise delivery of business and financial information, news and awareness to customers around the world." Bloomberg LP offers financial software tools such as: Analysis and stock trading platform, data services and news for financial companies and organizations via the Bloomberg Terminal. '

Africa's richest man, with an improved value of $ 14.8 billion, controls Dangote Industries, a tightly knit conglomerate. The Lagos, Nigeria-based company owns Dangote Cement, the largest sub-Saharan cement producer with 2018 sales of Naira 901.2 billion (USD 2.5 billion). It is also involved in sugar, salt, flour, fertilizers and packaged foods
Dangote was recently named the world's sixth largest nonprofit by Richtopia, a UK-based digital business and financial news magazine.

This recognition came after he endowed his foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF), with $ 1.25 billion

Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and J.K Rowlings took the first three places on the World Charitable lists, Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk took fourth and fifth places.

In addition to Dangote, 11th place went to Tony Elumelu, Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA). They are the only Nigerians on this list.

The head of the Dangote Group founded his foundation in 1981 with the aim of promoting high-quality training and expanding opportunities to strengthen the economy through strategic investments that improve health and well-being, and to improve opportunities for social change.

However, the foundation was founded in 1994 as a charity in Lagos, Nigeria.

Two decades after its foundation, the foundation has developed into the largest private foundation in sub-Saharan Africa, with the greatest funding from a single African donor.

The main focus of the Aliko Dangote Foundation is on health and nutrition, supported by extensive interventions in the areas of education, empowerment and humanitarian aid.
