Must one be called Abubakar or Mohammed to get appointed by Buhari? ON JANUARY 6, 2020 FRANKLY SPEAKING By Dele Sobowale President Muhammadu Buhari “We had to remove Fowler to improve revenue generation – Presidency.” VANGUARD, December 24, 2019, p 9. Fowler for those who might not know is from Lagos State and he was replaced by an Abubakar, not from Lagos State. From the statement credited to Garba Shehu, who was just a loudspeaker and not one of the “we” who removed Fowler, one would assume that Fowler was given definite revenue generation targets for each year in office which he failed to achieve. I don't have any problem if the President decides to pack his government with his village people. My problem with the President is the fact that he is filling his government with grossly incompetent people. If we nust eat frogs at least let it those that have eggs in their stomach. |

I'm suprised to see Uncle Dele wailing bitterly. I remember before the election in 2015 he was one of those who used their columns on our national dailies to campaign vigorously for these vagabonds in power. It's too late to cry when the milk is already spilt. 1 Like |

One Southern leader living in his own dream land announced that Buhari had done great things that no leader had done before. It is easy to understand when they are becoming senile at an early age. He did not mention one specific thing Buhari did to receive that accolade. He reminded me of one Wada Nas (remember him?) of the Abacha era. Say no more ... 1 Like

"Nepotism is the worst form of corruption. It is the mother of all corruption. That was probably why the framers of our constitution stood firmly against it, by enshrining the most-maligned Federal Character provisions at both Federal and State levels.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/nepotism-mother-corruption/amp/ I said it here too that Babatunde Fowler was another victim of the hausa-fulani hegemony/ethnic supremacist agenda of the Maj.Gen.M.Buhari-led APC regime but some chronic mummified fanatic zombies of this senseless govt downplayed it as a routine change of guards. Fowler was not the only fella whose agency of govt failed to meet projected revenue target, so why the selective axeing? Simply because of the clannish & nepotic trademark feature of this govt. This worst angle is that VP Osinbajo, Tinubu, SW APC kept mum & allowed it slide pass hence the govt moved on to axe Muiz Banire within 24hrs. This SW may keep on playing the obedient slave while waiting to eat the fattest bone in the future but never knows it's unwittingly roping itself into perpetual political slavery.Awolowo & Abiola did same but where did it land them? Political stupidity is not political sophistication or sagacity 1 Like |

I recollect asking one of the leaders of the Action Congress, whose leader got the South West into this slavery, in 2014, if they were aware of Buhari’s antecedents with regard to nepotism, ethnic bigotry, anti-women attitudes, proclivity for dictatorship and religious intolerance. He answered confidently that they had thought of all of those things and they “have a plan to checkmate those tendencies”. Buhari has gotten to that stage no one can stop him, even the Judiciary or legislative, activists are only a stone throw away from prison and opposition is only a file away from EFCC.. |
