Sir, as a Bible student myself, I always try not to add or remove from the book. That place you quoted is talking about a different thing, not what happened in the Garden of Eden. Remember Jesus revealed to John what would happen in the future, not what happened earlier. Re:1:1: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John. What Jesus was telling John was that the main character in that particular prophecy would be like the Garden of Eden serpent, a deceiver. Please re-read that chapter from the beginning.

But that 'they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.' according to verse 11 clearly shows it was a prophecy of an event that took place after Christ came and died and went to heaven
