Dangote is doing it to protect his family business, which is a negative for the nigeria economy and someone is saying good move .
Ideally, will you risk your wealth on a country like Nigeria, where nothing is certain?
He is doing what an ideal entrepreneur should do. Diversify
Its better not to have all eggs in one basket.
Moreover, the refinery is in his home country.

My man

Did Dangote pay tithes and offerings at the beginning of 2020 because he has added $1.02 billion to his wealth within one week of 2020 to increase his wealth to $15.8 billion

Good Muslims also pay tithes....stop being carnal

$4.9 billion dollars in 2019, even if he paid a 1% tax(which is impossible) that is $49million dollars =#17.64 BILLION naira from only one man, Oga Tunde Fowler has questions to answer........... angry angry

That's net worth, not income.

You only get taxed on income (or profits if you are a company)...
You do NOT get taxed simply because your assets (eg, your house) appreciate in value!

He should first of all consolidate well in Nigeria.

But Dangote should also come and establish Administrative offices+ factories in the Niger delta region.

It is disturbing to state here that Dangote has no office in Delta state or Rivers state.

The cement trucks are a nuisances in most of the streets.

They do not have a garage of their own where they can reach their customers.

Why should he "come and establish Administrative offices + factories in the Niger Delta region"?
Is he the federal government setting up "political" factories and businesses? Or do you want his staff kidnapped by "youths"?

Unless it makes business sense, dude is NOT coming...
Security and insurance (plus community MOUs) alone will render the business cost-inefficient.

There's no way he'll make money, trust me.

In a transparent system like the U.S, there's no mago-mago, no where to hide... no monopoly et al...

Let's see his Net Income after taxes... grin

Apparently, you do not understand the concept of a family office...
It's NOT an operational business, but rather merely an investment vehicle (Danjuma has one in London).

Nigerians lack wisdom. This news alone will trigger so many negative effect on Nigeria's economy because it will further discourage more foreign investors planning to go to Nigeria to invest. Nigeria have a very long way to go cry

No, it will not...
Because he continues to invest in the Nigerian economy.

Meanwhile, a Family Office is merely an investment vehicle to preserve generational wealth...
Most wealthy people have it in some form, and it has nothing to do with their corporate businesses.

We need to feel sorry for Africans. Where is Dangote making his money?

Bill Gates and Jeff Bezo and all others making their money would never even think of establishing in Lagos or anywhere else they do not make money except to hide it in shell companies in Panama.

Abeg see see, make una see Africans jubilating for African biggest money launderer.

Some of us have have wondered aloud what business men like Dangote sell outside Africa to be paying big money for adverts in USA.

We have Africans mumu that only foreign investments can liberate Africa, even as Africa gets poorer.

The next saviors to liberate Africans are money launderers.

Ask all the local and foreign businesses how much foreign currencies they have earned for Nigeria instead of looting our forex legally through Central Bank.

Microsoft has a Lagos office...
(not to mention the Gates Foundation has put millions of US dollars that Bill gates earned elsewhere into Nigeria).

By definition, EVERY foreign investor in Nigeria earned the monies they initially invested in Nigeria elsewhere...
Nonetheless, a Family Office is merely an investment vehicle to invest family wealth (not corporate funds) in businesses.

I can bet you that I pay more taxes than some of these Nigerian millionaires and billionaires. Getting them to pay their fair share of tax is always a problem. That's why the poor are not feeling the impact of these so called millionaires and billionaires.

In advanced countries, taxes from all these millionaires are used to support the poor and provide public goods.

Many billionaires in advanced countries barely pay any taxes...
Certainly NOT what would ordinarily be considered their "fair share" (Warren Buffet ponders why he pays a lesser rate than his secretary).

Despite better tax administration (not necessarily better citizenship) in the West...
Most wealthy folks use a variety of methods to avoid taxes, and wealthy companies (Google, Facebook, Starbucks, etc) hardly pay any taxes.

Meanwhile, EVERY Western taxpayer (not just the wealthy) support public services and the poor...
Conversely, EVERY Nigerian (not just the wealthy), outside of the civil service and few others subject to withholding tax, mostly EVADE taxes.

Heard his success story was inspired by that of Bishop David Oyedepo. He probably could be doing so secretly, we never can tell. Real men don't joke with God wherever they found themselves, only narrow minded confuse elite or dregs will spew thrash against God, He is behind everything and will show his mercy to whomsoever he wills Muslim or pagan. Notwithstanding, going to heaven is another different ball game with no iota of compromise in it's demand, which is a complete surrender of one's life to Jesus Christ. Anyone who fails to meet up with this simple criteria or acquire this cheap entry permit, will find it absolutely impossible to meet with God in eternity.

Yes, I know of ZAKAT. The Bible says, as long as the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest time shall never cease. Nobody reaps what he never sowed. That is why ANYBODY that obeys this sowing principles, reaps also....This is why some Christians keep mute when certain 'tragedies' happen to other Christians, because they don't know the level of relationship or love relationship they have with God.

Honestly, if this is not embarrassing it should make you cry.

You are comparing Bill Gates charity and offices to spread his wealth; to Dangote money laundering!

In the first place Microsoft makes money in Nigeria, Dangote does not make money in America.

But the same Africans that celebrate mirrors for gold, that praised Mansa Musa and Queen of Sheba in their time for laundering gold are the same Africans that defended Structural Adjustment and Devaluations.

Many of you need brain transplant since you are far gone with colo-mentality.

Did you know that Dr. Harold Shodipo, Fela and many Nigerians trying to pay school fees for their children were jailed for money laundering?

But how can I blame you when it is now legal and even Buhari now pays his children school fees and his medical bills from money looted from Nigeria legally.

The part that caught my attention is ' Dangote told Bloomberg'. Best believe that mere men don't tell Bloomberg something o. My brothers and sisters, hustle you. So that you can have something to tell Bloomberg.

Creating wealth is not about the cars and gold chains and whatnot. It's about the generational wealth and legacy you leave behind when you are long gone.

Good move Dangote. That's the reason I have most of my income in foreign-dorminated accounts.

Are there some investment accounts like mutual funds with your bank? Don't know if you are banking with Nigerian banks sha.

Given that Companies and Businesses in most Muslim nations are required to pay Zakat.

This is the last time I am going to respond to one of these cramming mis-educated Africans that lacks the ability to apply what they learn from Arabs and Europeans.

How much has foreign investments brought into Nigeria in 100 years?

If you know what they taught you and digest it well, you would have realized that the ONLY foreign investment is from Africa to Europe, America and Asia.

If you know the meaning of money laundering, you would have realized it is another foreign investment that went one way from Africa to Europe, America and Asia.

Note well, foreign investment has never made its way to Africa. Think and reflect on the meaning they teach you and how the face of poverty has moved from Asia to Africa.

You will never learn from history until you get old, I pray, and retire into your grave. All the free labor went one way, all the gold and diamond went one way. The cobalt and uranium are going one way.

Since you worship pretty worthless printed papers that was backed by gold from your Continent as promissory notes, you will never realize your folly.

Look, by the time they finished Dangote in their investment world which is rigged for their privilege class, he would lose every penny he made in Africa.

Oponu, Ndi Ara, Barawo!
