From the post above, you can see US halted the tareif increase because China agreed to increase purchase of US goods.

Once again, so we have a country that got China to increase purchase of their goods, that was not economically affected by the trade war and a country which currency dropped as a result of the trade war and agreed to purchase more from US in order to avoid more tarrifs, yet seemingly to you the second county won.
