Ukraine: 298 killed
July 17, 2014: Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 is shot down over rebel-held eastern Ukraine en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.

All 298 people on board the Boeing 777 are killed, including 193 Dutch nationals.

The Kyiv authorities and separatist pro-Russian rebels, who are battling for control of eastern Ukraine, accuse each other of firing the missile that hit the flight.

In 2019, Dutch prosecutors named four suspects in the attack, including three members of the Russian armed forces.

Somalia: 11 killed
March 23, 2007: An Ilyushin II-76 cargo aircraft belonging to a Belarusian airline is shot down by a rocket shortly after takeoff from the Somalian capital, Mogadishu, killing 11 people.

The plane was transporting Belarusian engineers and technicians who had travelled to the country to repair another plane hit by a missile two weeks earlier.

Black Sea: 78 killed
October 4, 2001: 78 people, mostly Israelis, were killed when their Russian Sibir Tupolev-154, flying from Tel Aviv to Novosibirsk, exploded in mid-flight over the Black Sea.

The crash happened less than 300 kilometres (186 miles) from the Crimean coast.

A week later Kyiv admitted that the disaster was due to the accidental firing of a Ukrainian missile.

Iran: 290 killed
July 3, 1988: An Airbus A-300 belonging to Iran Air, flying from Bandar Abbas in Iran to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, was shot down in Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf shortly after takeoff by two missiles fired from a frigate, USS Vincennes, patrolling the Strait of Hormuz, apparently mistaking it for a fighter aircraft.

The 290 passengers on board were killed, including 66 children.

The United States paid Iran $101.8m in compensation for the victims following a settlement at the International Court of Justice.

As part of the agreement, the US did not admit legal liability or formally apologise to Iran for the tragedy.

The US later awarded the captain of USS Vincennes, Will C Rogers, the Legion of Merit for his service as a commander.

Sakhalin, Russia: 269 killed
September 1, 1983: A South Korean Boeing 747 of Korean Air was shot down by Soviet fighter jets over the island of Sakhalin, after veering off course.

Some 269 passengers and crew members were killed.

Soviet officials acknowledged five days later that they had shot down the South Korean plane.

Sinai Dessert: 108 killed
February 21, 1973: A Libyan Arab Airline Boeing 727 flying from Tripoli to Cairo was shot down by Israeli fighter jets over the Sinai desert.

All but four of the 112 people on board were killed.

The Israeli air force intervened after the Boeing flew over military facilities in the Sinai, then occupied by Israel.

The Israeli authorities said fighters opened fire when the plane refused to land.

I didn't join the military simply because it is a case of a necessary evil when battle comes... All these deaths could have been avoided by peace which has become more expensive than war!

People like 'Russia' care less, to them it's collateral damage and sometimes terrorists operate under the guise of civilian planes

This is an interesting topic. It is a front page material but I won't be surprised if this piece of information is denied some thousands of persons as a result of it not hitting the front page.

If it is Tacha this and that, it must certainly hit front page. For how long must we continue to celebrate mediocrity?

What is wrong with middle east sef

For those that were wishing for the war to Start, I
Hope you have seen some of the ugly side of the war before its even started?
Boko Haram
Malian Rebels crises
And many crises that that we are witnessing in West Africa is as a result of The Libyan Crises and here we are today.

Middle East is one of the busiest Shipping and air route in the world, and it has troops from E.U Russia, and USA all over it, in case of war many countries will get entangled. Europe should be ready to accept addition millions of Muslims that will flock into their countries hence changing their demographics example France started with 0% Muslims and now it has 15%.

They knock down Libya which make it easy for hundred of thousand of Africans to cross into EU it is one of their worst nightmares haunting them till today.

The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic.

May I never be a statistic in Jesus name (Amen)

Can't we just admit already that humans are flawed,

No perfect nation
No perfect government
No perfect system
No perfect leader
No perfect followers

But there's a perfect God, Who when He saw His creation wax in wickedness, was sorry for creating them but still gave the ultimate solution in sending not angels, prophets, priests or servants, but His very Son Jesus Christ to die, and His blood be shed to cleanse mankind of all imperfection.

Let Jesus in your heart, to turn it from pride, doubt, scorn, hardness to soft heart of flesh that it is capable of love, forgiveness, mercy, laughter, support, wisdom

No amount of compensation in money, medals or apologies can bring back one single life from all these planes gunned down by missiles mistaken as enemies, fighter jets or spies.

May perpetual light shine on them and may the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, may we be spared and shown mercy from all mistaken shots, stray bullets and projectiles, in Jesus name, ameen

So US once shutdown an Iranian comercial jetliner killing 290 people of which 66 were kids, and they only paid compensation and case was closed

Iran did the same and all the noise going on and double standard from hypocrites

I’ve always knew US is nowhere near the Angel they present themselve as. They are just as wicked and cruel as the known terrorists, they have been able to fool so many because they always act in disguise. They don’t deserve the world power especially not with Trump as the head, infact no nation does!

In 2003, a human jet, also known as winch, was shot down by a stronger spiritual force. It was claimed that she was importing bags of pimples and craw-craw from South Africa into Edo State!

Yeah, we're witnessing a bigger picture of it by the financial power houses of the world. Unfortunately innocent people would have to go for it.
